what is naga dosham

Namaskars. I heard many times that specific chart has naga dosham. What is Naga

Dosham and what is the effect of it.

Raghu / Ketu placement in the 2nd / 8th house

considered to be Nagha dosham ?Does it causes

Vaidhavyam ? If so when?

Dear Richa Ji,

 

Is there not a difference between:

 

Naaga Dosha

Sarpa Yoga

 

..... or are they the same?

 

>From what I have gathered -- 3 or more krura grahas (malefics) in the

Konas (Quadrants) are called a Sarpa yoga.

 

Naags and Sarpas are snakes. With this in mind, I would consider Rahu

/ Ketu to be involved. Hence, it is as if the person is in the grips

of a snake.

 

Sometimes this snake is protecting us, and perhaps it is squeezing the

life force when we try to over come some boundries.

 

Would not the soumya grahas (benefics) alter some of this when in the

Quadrants?

 

I am a beginner so know we have to look at all the charts, but this is

just in reference to what was written.

Hello Richa Ji,

 

I checked Chapter 37 of Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra and here is some

more:

 

KendraTryagatei Soumyo Paapeirvaa Dalsangykou

Krmaanamaalaabhujunjaakhyou Shubhaashubhphalaprakou

 

8. Maala and Sarpa Yogas: If 3 or angles are occupied by benefics or

by malefics the 2 yogas have the combined name of Dala Yoga. These 2

ypgas are respectively Maala Yoga and Sarpa Yoga and these ypgas

respectively produce auspicious and inauspicious results.

 

[Author's] Notes:

If the natural benefic Jupiter, Venus and Mercury occupy angles and

the natural malefics are not in teh angles, it is only then that Maala

Yoga is formed. On the contrary, if the natural malefics the Sun,

Saturn and Mars occupy 3 angles and no benefic is there in any angle,

ut us only then that Sarpa Yoga is formed. These yogas are auspicious

and inauspicious as their very name suggests.

 

 

 

 

 

So, it seems that soumya grahas in the Kendras may help alleviate

something, and not as intence as you may have described.
