dear freinds

ashtakavarga is one of the most comphrehensive systems in astrology

for predicting the results for a native.

for those interested in pure numbers and stats, ashtakavarga system

of predictions is the most useful one.

following are the minimum number of points (before reduction) that a

chart shopuld have for its vaious houses

1st house:25

2 house:22

3 :34

4th :24

5th: :25

6ht :34

7th :20

8th :25

9th :27

10th :36

11th :54

12th :16

thus the houses recieving lesser number of points would get weakened.

generally

for any house 25 points and above:fair

30 and above: very good

below 25: weak

Dear Friends,

If Guru receives 8 points on ashtakavarga and is but

in enemy's house (Gemini) and also in lagna what

effects it will bring? Guru strong with 8points is

good for spiritual pursuits. Guru also forms a

Gajakesari with Moon in Dhanus.

Guru gets more than 9 Rupas (points) also. Let me know

when the effects can be realised?

warm regards,

Balaji S.

Dera Partha,

Here is a chart of one of my very close friend. If you see his

sarvastakavarga-points for houses are as under,

1-30

2-25

3-34

4-33

5-20

6-43

7-27

8-24

9-25

10-27

11-24

12-25

As per these points his 10H is having points less than 30-indicating lack of

sucess. Points of 12H is more than 11H - indicating expence more than income.

Actually it is not true. He is a very successful person holding high position

in a private company in mumbai. He has may be nearly a crore in his

bank-interest from which is more than sufficient for a luxurious life. He is a

very honest person but always hyper tensed without a valid reason. He has

earned these money through honest means by doing service in foreign

countries-staying with family for years together.

See his 5th house. It si having only 20 points. But he is very lucky about his

children. Two daughters-both are highly qulified, elder one is in USA. He has

very recently married off her.

So I unable to find any justification of house points-as given by you, in this

chart. Can you look at the chart and find any reason for this.

Best wishes,

Dasgupta

[vedic astrology] ASHTAKAVARGA ANALYSIS - A BREIF OVERVIEW

Dear friendsAshtakavarga analysis is one of the most interesting and exhaustive

systems for the purpose of predictive astrology. The system is a wonderful

quantitative tool which uses the simple analogy of numbers for the purpose of

predictions.Though there are many wonderful articles and books on this system,

the detail and the exhaustiveness involved confuses many a young astrologer in

his pursuit for understanding the subject. We all very well understand the

shubha sthanas and the ashubha sthanas in the natal chart. If we extend this

simple principle in our ashtakavarga analysis we get a very clear and precise

picture of the nature of predictions. In this regard I can give some interesting

thumb rules which can be followed to interpret through ashtakavarga.a) the

strength of planets-the results are based on the points that the planets get in

the ashtakavarga analysis.b) 0-3 points – considered unfavourable.

When a planet transists houses that gives less number of bindus the results are

considered to be unfavourable. Also when we are considering the natal charts and

the divisional charts we could easily understand why certain planets who despite

being part of wonderful combinations are not really giving any favourable

results. An example in this regard would be gajakesari yoga. If the planets

concerned say Jupiter and moon are receiving less points or rather bindus in

their ashtakavarga they would definitely not give good results.c) 4

bindus-moderate resultsd) 5-8 bindus –very good results. Benific

planets receiving more than 6 bindus is considered very auspicious.Sarva

ashtakavargaThe following are the hints that can be useful I presume. The

ascendant and 10th house are the pillar houses. These houses getting less than

30 points is considered to be a weakening factor for them. All the houses in

the natal chart receiving a minimum of as explained below.1st ) minimum of 27

points2nd) minimum of 22 points3rd) minimum of 34 points4th ) minimum of 24

points5th) minimum of 25 points6th) minimum of 34 points7th ) minimum of 20

points8th) minimum of 25 points9th) minimum of 30 points10th) minimum of 36

points11th) minimum of 54 points12th) minimum of 16 pointssome interesting

combinationsa) 11th house should get more than 10th house and 10th should

get more than 12th house. In this way the native's efforts would not get

wasted.b) Add up the points of 1st, 2nd , 5th, 9th and 10th house. This

should be greater than the combined total of 6th, 8th and 12th. This gives

some insights into the nature of the person. There are hundreds of points that

can be discussed. I have so little patience and cannot write all of them as I

rely more on memory than books. Members are requested to please correct me

wherever I am wrong. Also we can discuss certain specific aspects of this

wonderful systemRegardsPartha sarathy

Hare Rama Krishna,

Dear Dasgupta,

If we change the time to 15:32 we get Pi Lagna. With Rahu/Ketu

exalted in kendra. Is this person spiritual????

His Lagna lord is involved in GajaKesari Yoga in a Kendra with 5L,

but vitiated by a malefic venus, although debilitated. Association of

Lagna with 8L could give a worrying disposition.

Does he have his own business. Is he very enterprising and

authoratative???

He should be working in some sort of consulting position, involving

diplomacy.

In his occupation, is he looked upon as a charming man, whom

everybody flocks too...I mean does he have a personality to attract

people.

With Pi Lagna, we get the 5H with 39 bindus, 10H with 23, 11H with 31

and 12H with 26.!!!

Regards

Narayan

mumbai. He has may be nearly a crore in his bank-interest from which

is more than sufficient for a luxurious life. He is a very honest

person but always hyper tensed without a valid reason. He has earned

these money through honest means by doing service in foreign

countries-staying with family for years together.

Dear Dasgupta,

The following is my view on astavarga .

If we consider the astavarga of a house,

the points represent the cooperation from different grahas towards the

said house. However the denial of the significance of the said house

or flourishing of the same depends on the benefic / malefic influence

on the house and the strength of the lord.

If the astavarga points are low, then there would be some difficulty

it may hence need extra effort .

In the case u have stated,

Sat & Mar form VRY in 6th house . Sat & Mar yogada.

10th lord mars in VRY.

5th lord in 10, 5th house with exalted Rahu.

Though 10th house has less than necessary bindus, 6th house which is

9th from 10th house has 43 bindus. This will result in properity to

10th house matters.

Please correct me if any of you feel this is incorrect.

Respected Mr. Iyer,

No he does not have any business neither he is having that frame of mind. He is

a civil engineer by proffession. Yes he is spiritual in general sense. He is

not at all diplomatic, very straight forward, whole life worked in construction

site- and having a very bad mouth by habit. As a result he generally lands in

trouble where ever he works. But he is a good man by heart, it is known to him

to those who are close to him. He is very energetic, very serious and expert in

his field of work. He has lot of foreign connections and gets benefit out of

that. He is always willing to help friends whom he likes but he do not have any

charming personality and generally people try to avoid him unless it is

essential to come in contact. I feel that he lacks self confidence and as a

result gets worried on small things and irritates people arround.

He is tall, dark in colour, slightly bald in forehead and handsome. Using

abusing phrases during conversation is his habit.

With the present asc. Saturn is his lagnalord. Presently he is running Sa

mahadasa since Aug 98, may be his best period of life. All his personal

problems mainly related to his proffesion have gradually reduced since then.

Presently he is a happy person.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Dasgupta

[vedic astrology] Re: ASHTAKAVARGA ANALYSIS

Hare Rama Krishna,Dear Dasgupta,If we change the time to 15:32 we get Pi Lagna.

With Rahu/Ketu exalted in kendra. Is this person spiritual????His Lagna lord is

involved in GajaKesari Yoga in a Kendra with 5L, but vitiated by a malefic

venus, although debilitated. Association of Lagna with 8L could give a worrying

disposition.Does he have his own business. Is he very enterprising and

authoratative???He should be working in some sort of consulting position,

involving diplomacy. In his occupation, is he looked upon as a charming man,

whom everybody flocks too...I mean does he have a personality to attract

people.With Pi Lagna, we get the 5H with 39 bindus, 10H with 23, 11H with 31

and 12H with 26.!!!RegardsNarayanvedic astrology, "J.K.Dasgupta"

Actually it is not true. He is a very successful person holding high position

in a private company in mumbai. He has may be nearly a crore in his

bank-interest from which is more than sufficient for a luxurious life. He is a

very honest person but always hyper tensed without a valid reason. He has

Dear Mr. Sriram,

Your analysis seems logical. But I am not an expert. We shall wait for learned

members to comment on this.

[vedic astrology] Re: ASHTAKAVARGA ANALYSIS

Dear Dasgupta, The following is my view on astavarga .If we

consider the astavarga of a house, the points represent the cooperation from

different grahas towards the said house. However the denial of the significance

of the said house or flourishing of the same depends on the benefic / malefic

influence on the house and the strength of the lord. If the astavarga points

are low, then there would be some difficulty it may hence need extra effort .

In the case u have stated, Sat & Mar form VRY in 6th house . Sat & Mar yogada.

10th lord mars in VRY.5th lord in 10, 5th house with exalted Rahu.Though 10th

house has less than necessary bindus, 6th house which is 9th from 10th house

has 43 bindus. This will result in properity to 10th house matters. Please

correct me if any of you feel this is incorrect.-Shriram

Ekadashamsha and Rudramsha is the same or not?

It seems to me Ekadashamsha it is necessary to look for incomes,

and Rudramsha – for destruction.

That is Ekadashamsha is D-11, and Rudramsha – D-8.
