Can any one of you briefly illustrate the method of finding the Atmakaraka

in the chart given below?

 

One more question is, whether this native is eligible for Moksha since Ketu

is in 12th house from Lagna?

My answer is as follows

The planet having the highest longitude becomes the atmakaraka. In the

charakaraka only Rahu is considered along with the 7 planets and ketu is

excluded. For Rahu, the longitude is calculated from the end of the sign.

For illustration if the longitude of Rahu is 5deg, for calculation of

charakaraka, take it to be 30-5= 25 deg.

Namaste Arvind,

 

Atmakaraka is the planet most advanced in degrees in any sign. Rahu is ignored

in the 7 karaka scheme while it is included in the 8 karaka scheme. When

included Rahu's longitude (degrees) is reckoned from the end of the rasi, given

that its normal motion is retrograde.

 

In the given chart Moon becomes the atmakaraka.

 

I will leave the second part of your query for the seniors on the list.
