Namaste Satish:

Dharma Devaji's Internet Server has been having problems since Saturday

Morning and he hasn't been able to get online or to his email so I will do my

best

to answer.

The Srimad Devi Bhagavatam specifically mentions wearing these particular

rudrakshas on the wrists.

It further states places on the body where it is desirable to wear rudrakshas

and again the wrist is mentioned.

My assumption is that there is a direct connection with the specific

electromagnetic properties of these beads and the meridian points of the body. I

was

also taught that the hands signify power, which is an auspicious place to have

Goddess Durga 9 mukhi which banishes all forms of neagativity and Lord

Kartikeya 6 mukhi which destoys worldly sorrows.

In terms of practicality I have found wearing rudrakshas of any facet as

wrist mala to be very helpful.

It serves as a visual reminder of the presence of the Devata in one's life.

If one chooses to do japa in public, a wrist mala is less conspicuous, which

is excellent for those of us living in the West.

Having the combination of rudraksha and ratna around the wrist is very

helpful for health.

The hands have the same nerve endings to them as the feet and are often used

for treatment by reflexologists.

The wrist malas do stimulate some of these centers.

There is not a specific reason why given in the Srimad Devi Bhagavatam as to

why it is auspicious to wear these mukhi around the wrist. Realize that 6 and

9 mukhi are not limited to wearing on the wrist only. They can be effective

worn around the neck as well.

Hope this is of help :-)

I am wearing one bead of 3 mukhi rudraksha on left wrist. Is it ok? Also, I think if anyone wants to wear rudraksha bead on hands they should consider all odd number mukhis (3m, 5m, 7m, etc.) on left hand and even number mukhis (2m,4m,6m,8m,etc.) on right hand.
