SAT NAM,

Could somebody please elaborate more on why Yogiji

specifies to fast on New Moon and Full Moon.

If we prefer to fast on either New or Full moon which

one should be picked and why?

Thank you,

AKkama

Sat Nam Akkama,

The full moon is when your subconscious

mind is closest to the surface..so a really

good time to meditate or get some

healing done...you want all of your energy to be

going towards this goal of releasing the

subconscious mind...rather than into digestion.

Likewise for the new moon...a time of new

beginnings...to be able to focus your energy

fully on that.

If you can't fast it is suggested to eat as Sattvically

as possible at those times.

Well...I can't say what YB suggests...but my personal preference would be the

full moon...so that I am doing my best to release the old patterning that would

be, the present cause, of the experiences being manifested in my life (new

beginnings).....cleaning out the garbage can so that I can start

"anew"....fresh! ha ha!

Excerpt:

At the full moon you are naturally accelerated, and you are naturally

brought down during a new moon. Your biofeedback moves from full moon to

new moon, and the new moon to full moon. That's natural. But if on the

eleventh day of the moon, you just live on water and melon, your health

will be perfect.

If you want to take care of your mind, eat nothing on these three days

of the moon: a new moon, a full moon, and the eleventh day of the moon.

At the new moon you are at the lowest. On the full moon your glandular

system is at the highest. On the eleventh day of the moon you are in

balance, in twilight. So if on these three days in the month you can

fast on lemon and water, it will help you put. If you feel very cold,

then add ginger to it.

Each morning these days I take two ounces of ginger, two ounces of

lemon, with one spoonful of flaxseed oil.

Source: "The Master's Touch" by Yogi Bhajan (page 195)

A question: actually right the middle between the moons would be 14-th

day?... I asked myself this question, and went to check some resource

books on the moon cycles. Here what I found for the 11 day:

11'th day of the moon: "Kundalini", Ekadashi (?J.K.) day.

Energy wise this is the strongest day of the moon cycle. Activization of

Kundalini-the most primal energy in the human body. This is the energy

that build up the human body ( in the past) and continues to develop and

perfect it toward the highest spiritual structures.

The energy of this day is best for 24 or 36 hours fast.

This day is good for "softening" procedures before the liver cleanse.

Conceiving a child on this day brings about healthy long living people.

Jiwan Kaur, Sat Nam:

I am from Russia and am familiar with Gennady Malakhov's books. I was just

thinking the other day, how great it would be to have them been translated into

English. Did you read his books in Russian or English? His books represent the

best compilation of best healing and body and mind cleansing practices, all

combined together into logical and wonderfully working healing practice. If his

books are not translated in English, do you think there is an

organization/publisher who would be interested in translation and publishing of

his books? I can recommend an interpreting services company here, in US with a

very good reputation and record (www.languageconnections.com)

Another question: You wrote about fasting on 2 ounces of ginger, 2 ounces of

lemon and fullspoon of flaxseed oil. Are you talking about ginger powder, lemon

juice and tea spoon of flaxseed oil?

Thank you very much,

Galina

Sat Nam, Galina,

Those were Yogi Bhajan's words. I understand it when he says fast on

lemon and water. I was using so called "master cleanse" (2 tablespoons

of fresh lemon juice, two tablespoons of pure maple syrup, 1/10 of

teaspoon of cayenne pepper for a glass of softly hot water).

If I were to add ginger to it, I probably would chop it and boil it and

use that hot water for my lemon drink.

As far what exactly Yogiji uses, it probably could be minced (crushed

very finely) ginger root or blended in a mixer; I am not sure if it is a

teaspoon or a tablespoon of flaxseed oil.

May be somebody can share a light?

I red the book in Russian. As far as translation and publishing goes -

it is not a field where I apply my energy. There is an overwhelming

volume of recourses in English as well. I had an honor of three years'

long project of working on a dictionary. When it got published, I called

it "The End of my linguistic karma".

On the other hand, Galina, I will love to hear from you about where are

you in Russia, and what are the opportunities of practicing Kundalini

Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan? Any yearly gatherings? I am really

looking forward to hearing from you about it.

Wahe Guru,

Jeren/Jiwan Kaur
