Would you guess that . . . my stockpile of Vedic literature(s) is also accepted by and worshiped by the Hare Krishna psalm singers & Mahajanas throughout the 3-Worlds and the 14 planetary systems. PS: Sambya, I'm glad to read that my postings are so enlivening and welcomed by erudite pundits such as yourself --you are welcomed, it is my pleasure to uncover the jewel of 'being' buried in your heart.

Instead of realizing that the purpose of the Vedas is to revive the forgetful soul’s lost relationship with the Personality of Godhead, the 'veda-vada-rata' philosophers, sometimes even condemn the Puranas, which are authentic Vedic explanations for laymen. The so-called students of the Vedas are condemned herein because they are ignorant of the actual purpose of the Vedas on account of their disobeying the acaryas. Such 'veda-vada-ratas' search out meanings in every word of the Vedas to suit their own purposes. They do not know that the Vedic literature is a collection of extraordinary books that can be understood only through the chain of disciplic succession. According to the Bhagavad-gita (2.42, 7.15), mistaken mundane educators are known as veda-vada-rata [Those who pose as very learned in the Vedic literature, but are completely diverted from the purpose of the Vedas. The purpose of the Vedas is to know the Personality of Godhead] On the contrary, they are fascinated by such fruitive results as the attainment of heaven.

  6. Pure Consciousness is part and parcel of "ananda (blissfullness)" --therefore it is only when all anxiety [mental, emotional, physical, psychi, social, mortal] is vanquished. This act of vanquishing such ego-based-body-consciousness is often achieved ONLY in fleeting Glimpses, passing like a flash, that of course, was thoroughly witnessed by one's 'being' and thus, preceived as a 'Higher-Vision'. Such a 'Higher-Vision' is temporary. Thus, the quandry of living life in pursuit of Happiness/Fulfillment/Satifaction/Bliss . . . versus . . . letting-go of material baggage and feeling the emancipation of being 'Carefree'. with that said . . . now . . . get Back to Work, Bhaktajan

  12. There is no such thing as "neo-Hinduism". Here, in these Postings, everyone seems to be defining Hinduism according to philosophical postulations, suppositions, hypothesis, conjectures, notions, theories, best guesses, assumptions, ideas, deductions, speculations, inferences & theories . . . of the latest 'pop-culture' 'in-Vogue' 'jet-set' 'revolutionary' crowd. Whereas, Hinduism by any other name still is defined by 'Action' & 'Behavior' & 'Discipline' & 'Meditation'. Hinduism is thought as pacifist and otherworldly --yet it still sets the standard that all the world pursues. Whether it was . . . or Buddhists, Sufi mystics, Jews, Jains, etc none of these groups found difficulty living in Hindu India because of the tolerant Hindu psyche. But none of these religious traditions were accepted as being on par with Hinduism, and saying otherwise is just blatant intellectual dishonesty. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Religion without philosophy = sentiment (or sometimes fanaticism)-- while philosophy without religion = mental speculation. <!-- / message -->"otherwise is just blatant intellectual dishonesty."

KNOWLEDGE is crystal clear: "kindergarden + 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th Grade +UNIVERSITY +PROFESSIONAL SEMINARS +INTERSHIPS +LIBILITY INSURANCE PREMIUMS +STUDENT LOAN RE-PAYMENTS". These are the MULTIPLE-TIERED paths with which you attain that Supreme Path. Jnana, Karma and bhakti are the 3-Progessive Steps to the Conclusion (of the Vedas). Why else is there so many voluminous Vedic texts? Because it starts at stupid and ends with a fullly realized Person [Consciousness of Krishna]. What is amazing is that --without 'bestowing' knowledge --humans would not neccessarily presume that there are God(s), a Singular Godhead , nor the notion of Transcendent Liberation nor even that the world is a floating globe. Please remember that 'Science' is any 're-producible' outcome of any action, ie: Breadbaking, rice growing, music making, etc ---it would seem that such fruits of work are made by expert sudras [artisans/craftmen]. 'Science' = the skill to do the same thing over and over again with desirable & predictable results that yield benefits.
  14. The Gita Chapter 3 Verse 3: While on the first day of a Civil War while on the battlefield, God, the Supreme Person, said to his Warrior cousin Arjuna: I have explained that there are two classes of men trying to realize the self. Some understand it by empirical, philosophical speculation, and others by devotional service. .......................................... The analytical study of the nature of spirit and matter, is the subject matter for persons who are inclined to speculate and understand things by experimental knowledge and philosophy. The other class of men work in Bhakti-yoga aka "Consciousness of Krishna". Both the yogas are interdependent, as religion and philosophy. Remeber this maxim: Religion without philosophy = sentiment (or sometimes fanaticism)-- while philosophy without religion = mental speculation.

  16. "Energy Vampire" & "Crazy Makers" I aware of the term "Energy Vampire" & "Crazy Makers" —both of whom drain other's energy by way of abuse in different manners. Therefore, I feel compelled to make you aware of this woman Caroline Myss. She directly addresses the loss of energy and how it may later manifest in the areas of one's physical/mental/emotional life —the loss is discernable as it is related to chakra-energy hubs and their corresponding functions. Ie: the heart Chakra is related to issues of love etc and thus, heart ailments that manifest may very well be an extension of one's issues with Love. Or, throat ailment may be related to the chakra at the throat which governs the ability to express oneself. I am a bonefide and quite conservative Hare Krishna so, this advise about Myss's concepts are a bit New-age-like. But IMO, it's spot on and best of all Myss has no pretention. Her goals have been to make the connection between ailment and one's emotional life into a science that can be reliably repeated and seen by any novice as the basis of all psychosomatic ailments [considering that all physical ills start with a mind set that "enables" it]. ———————————————————————————————————————————You must check out this woman's writting regarding how to preceive illness by seeing the relationship of the illness to a person's life-pursuits/chakra/personality/vocational architype. I'm sure it will hit a chord with you --and that you would then be able to apply subsequent insights to the state of the world today. Every chapter is packed with meditations that help to either clean out the detritus that prevents spiritual growth or prepare for a mystical meeting with God. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Interspersed are supportive stories of those who have gone before on the path. While Myss explicitly states that readers need not become Catholic or even Christian to enter the castle, some may be turned off by how little she incorporates other traditions. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Even so, the material clearly springs from a deeply personal place and every page rings with the passion and intensity of someone who has finally found what she was seeking. Teresa became not only a spiritual woman who had written a brilliant practice manual, but a saint who saved Caroline's life, showed her her soul, awakened her heart, and set her on the never-ending...timelessly fulfilled road of practice. I just know that Teresa would say 'amen' to this luminous book as the fruit of her calling to you, a calling to all of us to be mystics without monasteries in a world sorely in need of a touch of the divine...the true self in each and every one of us." -- From the foreword by Ken Wilber, author of A Brief History of Everything and Integral Spirituality<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> ——————————————————————————————————————————— I strongly suggest you start with her the first of her presentational works: "Why people don't heal, and how they can"--get it in audio form [it's originally an audio lecture]! She retired from during "readings"--and moved to publically explaining how to do it yourself [easier said than done] --post retirement found her self-accessing her talent, so she found that it was not instinct but subtle logic that she used to ascertain the source of a person ailments [think Kavirajas; think Taoist & Chi Acupunture based doctors] --She relates her biography and how later she found the principles of what she saw as signs of illness as manifestation of ones energy ie: Chakras relate to Jewish Tree of Life relates to Christain Sacraments relates to Occupational/Societal Architypes ~ and then she innocently articulates the cross-references between these traditions so as to "locate where a person expends & invests theirown energies" ergo, manifest illness. Like a Kaviraj, such a doctor assesses the multi-factors of subtle movement of energy--Myss says that the path that the 'energy/ambitions/motivating factors' are easily descernable in peoples' mundane 'person, relationships, vocations & esp. Ailments'. Get: "Why people don't heal, and how they can"--get it in audio form--it's originally an audio lecture! Later works where her attempts to flesh out in academic form what she all ready explained in "Why people don't heal, and how they can" followed by the companion Book "Anatomy of the Soul"<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p>
  17. Sambya, My sincere advice to you: Read my posts & stop thinking independently -- just read my posts. humblely yours, Bhaktajan
  18. deepak22: for everything that you have written , its probably that there will be no human on earth soon , everyone will be in hell The Meek will inherit the earth --it doesn't say the 'meek' will be 'Humans'. For each human alive today --there are a billion insects/fish/rodent et al. At the middle & End of Kali-yuga reptiles will be tall as buildings and huamns will be cannable pigmies. Just look at the slum/abandoned Factory/battlefield nearest you and ponder the denizens that had gone before how & when that same area was prestine and a symbol of future prosperity.
  19. hindustani, the other thread is not similar in content
  20. My response to sambya [post 12]: The Vedas were first 'spoken' by a 'personality'. That 'personality' is Param-Brahman. Here's my challenge (though it may require you to rid yourself of envy of Krishna) What is the Etymology of the word "Param-Brahman"? {Ans: Adi-Purusha-Bhagavan-Sri-Krishna}
  21. Sambya, you & me & us & we all are students. You*** are such a presumptuously pompous pontificator without a cause. But that's your business --I don't mean to intrude into your "schtik". 1] galaxy18: Great Great scholarly work! Now we see where the western world was informed of the after world and it's conconmitant factors. The Hindu Book of Dead exposed after so many . . . . 2] Sambya: so what was the objective of this thread ? i couldnt understand it !! [The 14th mantra of the Isho-upanishad teaches that one must perfectly know both: a) sambhuti (the Personality of Godhead) and, b) vinasha (the temporary material manifestation), side by side. By knowing the material manifestation alone, one cannot be saved, for in the course of nature there is devastation at every moment. Nor can one be saved from these devastations by the opening of hospitals. One can be saved only by complete knowledge of the eternal life of bliss and awareness. The whole Vedic scheme is meant to educate men in this art of attaining eternal life. People are often misguided by temporary attractive things based on sense gratification, but service rendered to the sense objects is both misleading and degrading. We must therefore save ourselves and our fellow man in the right way. There is no question of liking or disliking the truth. It is there. If we want to be saved from repeated birth and death, we must take to the devotional service of the Lord. There can be no compromise, for this is a matter of necessity.] is it to create a fear in the minds of the people so that they may stick to spiritual values ? [This is sooo elementary . . . School classrooms; PrisonHouses; A Doctor's Diagnosis; Fireman's Alarm Bell-Siren; Air-Raid Sirens; all SERVE to create a fear in the minds of the people] --all to set them on the right path toward safety/happiness/satisfaction.] if thats the case , then let me tell you , that spirituality pursued in fear of hell is no spirituality at all . [***See above comment.] the maximum benefit that such concepts as these can give to mankind is to act as a moral restraint for the masses . [Your pontifacations are so insipid!. The Status Quo for a minimum of 50% of the planets inhabitants is "a 3rd World Quality of Life". And out of that 50% most are far below "miserable". And least of them are those who previously could not fit the Eye of Needle --which lead to their joining-up with the undeprivledged so as to 'reconcile' what is of ultimate value and what is not of ultimate value. All done without the guidence of competent Vedic Guru or without the Discipline of being a competent Vedic student] what is so spiritual about the entire topic ??!! [This is sooo elementary . . . there are 8 Million & 400 Thousand Species of LIfe Forms --each is experincing the myraid of hellish lokas (places) --remember that next time you watch a nature documentary and see how the majority of this planets denizens live . . . according to the Mother Nature's Wild Rules. a spiritual candidate is not concerned a bit about hell and stuff ! this sounds so christian..........you do this and you go to heaven .........you do that and you're eternally dammed . ["The material world is danger at every step". Sambya, Have you forgotten (or are you just posting while stoned?) the "FIRST NOBLE TRUTH"?????? Evedently Yes, you have forgotten . . . ]

'Dharma' is eternal. One who follows dharma is protected by dharma( Dharmo rakshati rakshitah). one who does Adharma is bound to perish just like Ravana,kauravas etc. Hence, we believe in eternal dharma. Artha(money) is one of the purusharthas. one must toil to earn 'artha(money)' . with that 'artha' one must fulfill '<st1:place w:st="on">kama</st1:place>'(desires). unless one is free from '<st1:place w:st="on">kama</st1:place>'(desire) one cannot attain moksha. One must earn "artha"(money) and fulfil '<st1:place w:st="on">kama</st1:place>'(desire) only in 'Dharmic' way. '<st1:place w:st="on">kama</st1:place>'(desire) is the very basis of existance. one who is free from '<st1:place w:st="on">kama</st1:place>' can alone get 'moksha'. All the desires are to be fulfilled only in Dharmic way. satisaction can alone put full stop to '<st1:place w:st="on">kama</st1:place>' but not repetition of work. Where is spiritural enjoyment, pastimes & purpose of existance --in your so-called Devotion to Shiva? Shiva is the 'self' of all beings. The devotees of Shiva who realises their essential nature as Sat-chit-Ananda need not look for any kind of enjoyments. Pastimes are for those who are unable to rise beyond 'time'. but shiva is beyond space and time. He is the creator of both space and time. He is the nondual supreme self. The great yogis regulate their breath, control and still their mind, look inward and enjoy the bliss with their hair standing on edge and eyes filled with tears of joy It looks as though they are immersed in nectar that bliss which they see in their heart and exult thus, is verily Shiva. Where is heaven and why do we seek it? Heaven,hell,planets..etc are for those who are bewildered by ignorance. The devotees of shiva who realises themselves as 'Atman' are not bounded by hell or heaven. The 'self' is all pervading. Hence, There is neither going nor coming. This unborn Atman is the basis for time,space,heaen,hell,spiritual planets..etc.<o:p></o:p> ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Aside from the pursuit of comfort & pleasure(s) –or not to seek such things during any one’s chosen spiritual life:<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> princegoutham is a giant devotee of Lord Shiva ---YET He is a mayavadi!<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> ____________ is a giant devotee of Lord _____ ---YET He is a mayavadi!<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::<o:p></o:p> To me IMO there are impersonalist and there are personalist philosophic schools of Hindu metaphysics.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> The Shaktis, Sakthas, & Shivites are denying the Personal Existance of the Devatas –that is a wrong concept.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> The Devas exist as real persons –with the higher more elite and aristocratic status that their titles convey.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Being “ENVIOUS” of Krishna’s revelation(s) in The Gita betrays the wellwishes of Vyasadev and all past noble paramparas since antiquity that preserved the Vedas for Later gererations such as our just now.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> ATTENTION! 24. One cannot give up a Higher Taste for a lower Taste unless outside influences are involved (mind altering drugs, etc). I really mean it [i know that this seems petty --but I am making the statement none-the-less]. .................................... He didn't say he is giving up ISKCON or Ashram life. <<<<<>>>>> Hindustani prabhu's point is an on-going one that others mention: A person 'brainwashed' by dogma from an institution will only express the opinion of the orthodox 'tenets' without any personal realization [vijanana]. But that is not bonefide . . . knowledge must agree with Guru [mentor], Sadhu [other mentors] & Sastra [the Text Books]. . . so don't be too shocked by Hindustani prabhu's Debating style(s).
