  1. For us, the world is one - this earth. God did not tell us to make counry boundaries, we did it. A strong country can make the whole world one country - one government. Suppose it happens, it would not stop wars. The wars then would be called civil wars. A material world cannot be free from any conflict, small or big. Because there are many people with different ego, intelligence, mind and body color and backgrounds (past karma and desires), they find it difficult to accept any one religion. Each group says, "Accept my religion, it is best for all." So, then what is the criteria to judge which religion is best, and best for what? One would say - a religion is best that gives more material toys. Another will say - a religion is best that makes all super intelligent. Still another will say - a religion is best that says only a perticular color of people are allowed to live and otehrs as their slaves. The best criteria for comparing religions is given in Bhagavatam. It says dharm has four legs: satya (truth), dayaa (mercy), tapa (austerity), and shaocha (cleanliness, internal as well as external). So in comparing religions one must ask: - Which religion gives maximum freedom to seek truth? Which religion does not care for truth but dogma only? - Which religion teaches mercy and how much mercy and when mercy? - Which religion teaches to practice austerity and huw much? - Which religion teaches external and internal cleanliness? Of course we know Sanatana Dharma is best. We need to convice it to others. A couple of religions are out there to force or entice us to accept their religion. If we know we have something of utmost and eternal value to us and the world, we need to become able to protect it by all means including kshatriya means. Jai Sri krishna!
  2. Hinduism is un-organized inherently. There is no single head or authority to bring every Hindu in focus for anything. This is good for spiritual quet (find a truth and prove it is true by living the truth.) However, it cannot help when there are competing imperfect ideolgies at the door who are up to wipe out Hinduism from the face of earth. There is nothing wrong for the Vedic people to act to keep Bharat for the Vedic people and not for agggresive ideologies like Islam. Islamist terrorism is every where, and is close and within Bharat more than any where else. When the house is on fire, priority is to fight fire and not chant or study Bhagavatam till the fire is extinguished. Note that Krishna did raas lila in vridavan only after He killed all the asuras and established peace first. Similarly, when the Islamist are desroying temples (e.g. akshardham and raghunath temples), the first priority for all the vedic people is to unite and fight this mosnter. The root cause of the terrorism are in their books - Koran and Hadith. The barbaric messages contained in these books need to be exposed to the world before praising Islam blindly. A world opinion has to be formed that clearly says Islam is not a "religion." A weak point of democracy is that majority rules even if the majority is all fools or asuras. This loop hole is exploited by Muslims to enter a kafir country, like a trojan's horse, and multiply like pigs by keeping four wives who are just sex accessory to them. Onbce they become 10-20 % of the polulation, they ask for separate rules and treatment and cause terrorism. If they become 30% more, them it is very difficult for natives to stay alive or keep their culture alive against Islam. Look at the history of Islam any where, and this lesson will pop up. Not knowing Islam's nature (not studying Koran and hadith) the Hindus made a great mistake by allowing Islam to enter in Bharat. Gandhi deluded the Hindus more by preaching absolute non vioence which he utterly failed to teach to the minority Muslims. Just as a hawk cannot give up preying, a Muslim cannot give up aggression and violence. He can only be subdued or finished by violence. A Hindu king Prithvij Chauhan defeated Mohammed Ghauri 17 times! Each time after a defeat Ghauri said to Prithviraj, "I am your cow." Now this Hindu king was a stounch Hindu and proud of his strenght to defeat any one any time. So, he let Ghaur go alive each time. Ghauri attacked 18th time (see the Muslim determination) and Prithviraj lost. Ghauri thrut hot iron rods in his eyes and put him in prison without any hesitation, no gratitude that Prithviraj let him go alive 17 times. That is Islam! Also note that Pakistan's Nuke missiles are named Ghauri. The Hindus now have woke up, along with America to stamp out this terrorism. No Hindu should count on America for help. They need to fight their own battle agains this adharma. Else all aashramas and temples and yatra dhamas would be history, buried under mosques. I really belive this. Are there any convincing arguments contrary to this? Jai Sanatana Dharma! Jai Sri Krishna!
  3. J N Prabhu's answer is nice, but does not answer the question posed. So, please allow me to give some comparison between Hinduism and Islam. I would use H: for Hindu position, I: for Islam position. H: Everything belongs to god. There is only God. I: Same. H: God has form, and also is formless. He can take any form. He has many names and forms. I: God is formless only. He has only one name - Allah. H: Everything belongs to God, nothing is yours. Use only what god gave you, and do not take what is allotated to others. (isavasya idam sarvam..) I: Everything belongs to Allah. Therefore, the property, wealth, life and resources that are in the possession of kafirs (all non-Muslims) are illegal possessions. Every Muslim has sacred duty to take that possession by any means, hook or crook. H: Krishna says in gita 18th chapter: "..yat ichchhasi tathaa kuru". He tells dharma, but does not force, and gives freedom to each soul to take His advise or not take it. So, a Hindu says like Arjuna: karisye vachanam tava. I will do as you advised me. I: When one is born in a Muslim family, one is a Muslim only. There in no choice given to the child or adult to pick another religion. If he/she gives up Islam, then Koran says Muslims to kill him/her. Also, a Muslim needs to convert kafirs, even by the force of sword. If they kill, then Koran say the killers go to haven where they enjoy sex with 72 vergins. This they have done it for 1000+ pears in India and and have caused many Hindu genocide. Even now they ar doing it. H: Hindus have no interest to take over another country's terrotery. I: Islam has sacred interst to take over all the entire world and make it a Muslim world. Therefore, if you see history any where, you will see that wherever there is a Muslim, there will be conflict. H: Hinduism is most tolerant. However, violence is not an absolute principle in Hinduism. When Arjuna said, "I will no fight," Krishna said, "You must fight adharma." I: Islam cannot tolerate any other religion. You can see that in almost all Muslim countries, all religions except Islam are illegal there. Kafirs are persecuted there very badly. H: M K Gandhi was a Jain at heart, not a Hindu. He was a politician first, and had some saintly qualities. He used jain principle of absolute non violence at the critical time of the history of Bharat, and screwed up the fate of Bharat. He ignored Krishna's message to fight Muslim adharma in 1947. Consequently he was shot by a Hindu intellectual and nationalist Godse just as Sri Prabhupada predictred in his letter to Gandhi. I: Khan Abdul Gafar Khan of Afghanistan was know as a Muslim Gandhi. Hardly any Muslim has glorifed him. His methods are not in acccordance with Koran and Hadith. Bin Ladin, a true Muslim, is glorifed in the Muslim world. H: Cow is sacrid, to be worshipped. I: Cow is food. Pig is not to be killed. H: Respect all religions and their temples. I: Destroy all infrastrucre of other religions. Build mosques on top of destroyed temples. H: Women are to be respected and protected. I: Women are object for sex enjoyment and private proterty. Women cannot go to haven or mosques. There are so many vast differences. Hinduism and Islam are exposed at mnay we sites. If you see a good hindu, then he must be following Hinduism well. If you see a good Muslims, then he is not folloing Koran fully. We knok that god is one, but the concept of god and his message given in differect books of religions are very different. This is a source of wars, which cannot be avoided in the material world. One just has to decide which side one wants to take. To remain neutral does not help either. If any Hindu (Vedic) aashram or instituton or temple thinks that by praising Islam or Muslims will secyre safety from Muslims, then it is a grave mistake. They will come there, sonner or later to do their sacred duty. To avoid this is to join in the dharma yuddha which can be fought at non violent level too. But if the Vedic culture has to be kept safe and sound in it's home land Bharat, then the aggresive ideologies should be removed from the land. This can be done non-violently but aggresively first. No violence if it can be avoided. The essence of Krishna's message is to fight adharma and win. He has guaranteed victory. Jai Sri Krishna!
  4. J N Das Prabhu wrote: <<As far as the four Vedas are concerned, they are not very relevant today.>> Dear JN Prabhu, As you know, gita is the summary of the Vedas. While the Vedas have 80,000 verses, gita has only 700 verses. Therfefore it is very suitable for the people in this time where hardly any one has interest or time to read 80,000 verses. If I say the Vedas are irrelevant, then it also means its summary - gita - also is irrelevant; but gita is relevant, so, the Vedas also are. It needs a sadguru to tell/explain how relevant they are. Hope you agree. I would not dabate this point. Jai Sri Krishna!
  5. When some one asks where is god, we can ask him: "Why you want to know?" The possible answers are like: - There is no god, and you cannot show it to me. - I want to see him and talk to him. - I love him or hate him. - I am just curious. The conversation content after this depends upon the background and realization of the two people comunicating. Many saints and aacharyas have already answered such questions. Jai Sri Krishna!
  6. Every one does not know what is the purpose of life. So, they make their own purpose, good or bad, under the influence of a sadguru or maya. Money gives freedom. When one spends all his time to make money and does not know what to do with the money, then most limely it cannot help any one. To make money is not bad in itself. One needs to spend one's spare money for better purposes. It is Lakshmi, the goddess that always serves Narayan. What is better purpose is different for different people, unfortunately. For Ben Ladin, better use of money is to open madressas and indoctrinate Islam in young minds and grow them as fearless jeehadis and couse terror all over the world to make the whole world Islam. So, I think that it is a challenge for the leaders of the Vedic religions to convince the Islamists and the world that what they are pursuing is a wrong way. I would like to know what the leaders of this org. think about this. Jai Sri Krishna!
  7. om buhur bhuvah svah tat savitur varenyam bhargo devasya dhi mahi dhi yo yo nah prachodayaat This is gayatri mantra. It is a paryer to Sun god to get better/best intelligence. Mantra itself is personified as goddess gayatri. There is a group of Hindus called gayari parivar. They have their web pages. More could be found from there about their sadhana. Hope it helps. Jai Sri Krishna!
  8. Here are my thoughts: - One cannot read everyone's mind all times unless one's own mind is pure and fully surrendered to Krishna. Such great souls are very rare. - A desire to read some one's mind is a desire to secretly invade some one's privacy. This could be for good or bad reasons. So, a devotee would not want to read some one's mind for bad purpose. - A devotee knows that Krishna know's every one's mind, including his/her own. So, if a devotee has some purpose to read another's mind, i think that the devotee would pray to krishna to get the result the devotee desires, rather than himself reading the mind and taking action. Hope this helps. Jai Sri Krishna!

<<Not much time left, we may see another spring and summer, but we may not see 2004. Even if we do, there will be a hellava lot less crowding. Dont blame me, I just repeat the news here. haribol, ys, mahaksadasa >> I think mahakshadasa needs treatment. He and many will live full life, I believe. Jai Sri Krishna!
  10. Jai Sri Krishna! I am new here. Would be gland to help when I can, and learn when I can. Let me try to answer the questions posted: 1) What does being a Hindu Mean? Any one who accepts the authority of the Vedas and tries to live by it is a Hindu or Sanatana Dharmi or Arya or Varnasrami. (Aryan is not a race according to teh Vedic scriptures.) The 700-verse summary of 80,000 verses of the Vedas is Bhagavad Gita. So, I wish and pray that every Hindu know Gita well. 2) Should a Hindu eat meat? Ideally, No. As one becomes more and more serious in his/her sadhana (dharma practice), one gives up meat eating, wine, etc. 3) What does Hinduism say about abortion? It is sin. Hindu way to avoid unwanted pragnency is to not get pragnent by control of sex desire. Enjoying sex while using artificial means to avoid pragnency is also sinful. 4) Which books/scriptures form the basis of Hinduism? I would recommend gita. see http://www.asitis.com Oh, there is gita here too: http://www.bhagavad-gita.us/ Then also read Ramayan, Mahabharata, and Srimad Bhagavatam. Knowing is one thing, then one needs to live by it. Just knowing does not make one a Hindu. Jai Sri Krishna!
