Hare Krishna All glories to srila prabhupad After so many years of japa we are not getting softheartedness because our chanting is not proper. it can taken as below. i.e we are chanting the Hare Krishna Maha mantra 16 rounds regurarly in the morning in mangala arati or all day.isnt not. but my question is that how much times we would have been really doing our japa thinking alone Lord Hari.we are not doing it ! really when we chant the 16 rounds properly without deviation and thinking only Lord Hari. then that time we begin to be softhearted. and that time only you can think that everybody is part and parcel of the Lord Hari and everybody is a eternal servant of the Lord. Hare Krishna All Glories to srila prabhupad The reason for getting hatred at others is envious and Lust to attain that particular thing we are desiring for and at the same time the jiva (soul) (i.e ourself) thinks himself as the doer and does all the work. also he expects some kind of things and if that not happens he gets hatred on others jivas thinking that he is not doing according to my expectations and doing it in his own way.how can he do? and he must do it for my expectations.So giving up hatred and expectations can at once make love others and treat everybody as Soul not the doer and evrybody as the servant of Lord Krishna. She cooked and served a group of 15 devotees who went there.How much mercy ? I have never been to India but I had a Buddhist friend who always told me there is no use in going there because India is a good example of why samsara sucks. He's not the most cheerful person in the world so I never took him very seriously. I hope you are right and it takes root really soon so I can benefit from good association. I have spent my whole life living around Mormons and Catholic immigrants. Neither group is all that bad but they don't hold the cow as being sacred or anything and they support the slaughter of cows. For the most part they are materialists but I think down deep most of them do love Jesus Christ. My point is that the budddhist dont believe in exsistence of the sastras.They are also doing lot of tapasya but what is the use if they are not satisfying the supreme personality of godhead Krsna. It's just waste of their efforts and energy. Krsna says in Bhagavd gita that all the yagnas, tapaysa, etc... are only done to satisfy Him and also says that He is the beneficier of all the yagnas and tapasya.better give up such friendship for Lord Krsna. because Mahaprabhu says,"mayavadi bhasya sunila hoya sarva nasha" means hearing a mayavadi will take all the faith and strength of the holy name. You dont mind about what they are doing! If you chant purely and if you Satisfy Krsna by your activities and sevas. Yes living in america is tuff and it could not be possible also to get association of devotees. but, onething is alone possible for the devotee is to chant the holy name of the Lord Krsna. The following is a realizaton by a Mathaji who is disciple of Srila Prabhupad. I heard it directly on Srila Prabhupad's disappearence day in vrindavan in karthik month of 2005. mathaji told that, "The very merciful of Lord's form is Lord Gauranga and Lord Nithyananda. but more merciful than Gaur-nitai is Lord Jaganath, Lord Baladeva and Subatra mayi. but Iam saying that more than the Lord "Srila Prabhupad" is merciful beacuse we are born in america were we cannot know about Lord, His pastimes, and about his devotees.Srila Prabhupad has brought that much merciful Lordships to america to save us from the ocean of material nesciences and due to him we got Bhakti towards Lord.and we can understand how much merciful is srila prabhupad and his hard work to save us from the material energy. So my point here is you can chant "Hare Krishna Maha-mantra" very easily but begining very tuffly.and that alone can save you prabhu. please where ever you go, what ever you do. please chant atleast the Holy name to save yourself from getting into the illusion. I agree that the word is not right "Karmi". Hereafter i will try to avoid the usage of the word karmi. We must develop our faith towards the supreme personality of godhead Krsna, this is very important. Because nobody can help at the time of death except the Lord Krsna.Our mood should be to get surrender completely to Lord Krsna. After hearing this at once according to his guru sukracharya he went to forest to make tapasya and get a boon that he should not die. After he went to make tapasya Demigods headed by Lord Indra and all others get scarred of his tapasya.because the ssound vibration didnt allow anybody to sleep or involve in any other acivities.they all get distrubed and out of fear of loosing their position they all went to distrub the hirankasipu's tapasya. demigods Varuna, indra, chandra, vayu and all others including dancers in the indra lokha went to distrub his tapasya in their possible ways.heavy rain, heavy strom, dancers also distrubed with their jewels sound in their legs and also danced in front of him. but he didnt get distrubed by all the things. he was doing tapasya without even a pinch of change in his attitude. here the point might be raised that he has made tapasya to get the boon not to die and live for ever rulling all the three worlds. but he was having such a faith on Lord Brahma and not distrubed from his attitude and path. similarly we are saying ourselves as devotees but we dont have even a faith that Lord Krsna will give us food and all other basic needs and also maintain us. and atleast we should have faith as hiranyakasipu had that might be for material benefit or spiritual benefit, without faith both cannot be received from Lord. To grow your faith There are three things to do: 1. Always be hungry 2. Always be Seperate 3. Always be aware 1. We should be hungry always not to fill our stomach but to hear some Krishna Katha from a authorised person and also to chant the holy name of the lord.Ex. Namacharya Srila Haridas thakur. 2. We should be always seperate avoiding non vaishanva association because If you are associating with a karmi that gives the attitude of what they have and all the material desires. Ex. Lotus flower. 3. Always BE AWARE about the things which you are going to do and also the things which you are doing now at the present time. Bhagavad gita Verse 10.4 Intelligence, knowledge, freedom from doubt and delusion, forgiveness, truthfulness, control of the senses, control of the mind, happiness and distress, birth, death, fear, fearlessness, nonviolence, equanimity, satisfaction, austerity, charity, fame and infamy — all these various qualities of living beings are created by Me alone. Dear guest you said that "Hari means He who takes everything away and there is also a saying, "My dear friend, if you want to enjoy the company of family, wife and children, please do not look at the Three Fold Bending Form of the Lord...all who do so will end up mad and beggars in the street crying, 'Hari! Hari!'..." So sounds like a good reason for marrying a Filipina Catholic or a Christian man who forbids you to look at pictures of Hari in your home, if you want a good home life. And best bet for rotten home life is do like Visnupriya and marry the Lord then He dumps you at age 16 to take Sannyasa. Then eat one grain of rice per day for how many rounds you chanted that day." But in the above sloka krsna says that he is everything and if you want something which is not material then you have to sacrifice some time, some people, some wealth and because he is the supreme person.Dont worry that krsna takes everything but he gives you the potency to think him at the time of the death. even that is the highest boon from the lord. Unless empowered by krsna, one should propogate the sankiratana movement. see first of all you cannot meditate for even one minute without the thoughts of anything other than the supreme lord. so that much of contamination is there in this kali yuga. so you cannot sit and meditate now.and if so you are thinking that "The Maha-mantra carries such dire consequensces if 4 regulative principles aren't followed perfectly." Then i can say that you are going to study in an university for your P.G Or U.G courses then you are abide by rules and regulations of that particular college or school which you are studying.likewise this is the knowledge of the supreme lord. you have to sacrifice something for the supreme lord that is not a mistake i think !. Dear sir, we are in the age of kali yuga i.e age of darkness and age of iron not the age of gold i.e satya yuga.those rules and sacrifices which you are saying is not applicable to this dark kali yuga.that means if we are capable of offering animals then it can be accepted but there is no purity.isnt it? there are no qualified bramanas even to do fire sacrifice.might be some few but rest they are doing it for passion and fashion.This is kali yuga Kalau sudra sambhava Everybody who are born in this kali yuga are sudras.If you or me are bhramana then it doesnot mean that by birth we are bahmana but by quality we are not ? so its said by krishna but why did he spoke in Bhagavad gita that "Patram puspam phalam toyam" not "patram puspam sariram toyam"that means 'If one offers with devotion, a leaf, some fruit, water or flowers I will accept'. not he says that he will accept flesh or we shall eat flesh. why Krsna said you know? because the men in this kali yuga are less intelligent, lazy, unsatisfied and hankering for even simple things and also making quarrel for silly matters.krishna says in bhagavad gita that he came to re-establish the link which have been broken by time. so then to reestablish that he is speaking bhagavad gita. and you cannot understand sastra for your convenience. real meaning is there which is different? that cannot be speculated and interpreted and that means we are getting into the pangs of one of the quality of kali yuga, i.e lazy. giving up the restriction is not intelligent and sacrificing everyhting for the satisfication of the lord is Tapasya. please try to get good association and read Srila prabhupada's books Hare Krishna

Chapter 4 Transcendental knowledge Text 40 ajñas casraddadhanas ca samsayatma vinasyati nayam loko 'sti na paro na sukham samsayatmanah SYNONYMS ajñas — a fool who has no knowledge in standard scriptures; ca — and; asraddadhanas — without faith in revealed scriptures; ca — also; samsaya — of doubts; atma — a person; vinasyati — falls back; na — never; ayam — in this; lokah — world; asti — there is; na — nor; parah — in the next life; na — not; sukham — happiness; samsaya — doubtful; atmanah — of the person. TRANSLATION But ignorant and faithless persons who doubt the revealed scriptures do not attain God consciousness; they fall down. For the doubting soul there is happiness neither in this world nor in the next. PURPORT Out of many standard and authoritative revealed scriptures, the Bhagavad-gita is the best. Persons who are almost like animals have no faith in, or knowledge of, the standard revealed scriptures; and some, even though they have knowledge of, or can cite passages from, the revealed scriptures, have actually no faith in these words. And even though others may have faith in scriptures like Bhagavad-gita, they do not believe in or worship the Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna. Such persons cannot have any standing in Krsna consciousness. They fall down. Out of all the above-mentioned persons, those who have no faith and are always doubtful make no progress at all. Men without faith in God and His revealed word find no good in this world, nor in the next. For them there is no happiness whatsoever. One should therefore follow the principles of revealed scriptures with faith and thereby be raised to the platform of knowledge. Only this knowledge will help one become promoted to the transcendental platform of spiritual understanding. In other words, doubtful persons have no status whatsoever in spiritual emancipation. One should therefore follow in the footsteps of great acaryas who are in the disciplic succession and thereby attain success. So here the important thing is that Lord Krishna is absolute whole who is always transcendental. and there is no difference between krishna and krishna's body, prasadam, words, garlands etc... so if you are doubting about the effects of rendering devotional service is also which is transcendental that means you are doubting Krsna ? Please be aware that you are lack of vaishnava association get some good association which can give you more faith and read carefully Prabhupad books so that you can understand the truth and duty as a soul.and try to "asat sangat tyaga" leave the association of persons who are materialistic people and also dont even try to associate with mayavadis and athiests. Sri krishna chaitanya mahaprabhu has said that mayavadibhasya sunile haya sarva-nasa: simply by hearing the Mayavada interpretation of the sastras, one is doomed." (CC Adi 17.53). "Trinad api sunicena taror api sahisnuna amanina manadhena kirtanya sada hari" One should chant the holy name of the Lord in a humble state of mind, thinking oneself lower than the straw in the street; one should be more tolerant than a tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige, and should be ready to offer all respect to others. In such a state of mind one can chant the holy name of the Lord constantly. you should consider yourself nothing and you should serve the vaishnavas for their satisfication.then by the mercy of the vaishnavas you will be given Bhakti and you will awarded the holy name to chant always. Text 6 sthala-jala-tala-zaSpair bhUruha-chAyayA ca pratipadam anukAlaM hanta samvardhayan gAH tri-jagati nija-gotraM sArthakaM khyApayan me nija-nikaTa-nivAsaM dehi govardhana tvam sthala-land; jala-water; tala-surface; zaSpaiH-with grasses; bhUruha-of trees; chAyayA-with the shade; ca-and; pratipadam-at every step; anukAlam-at the right time; hanta-indeed; samvardhayan-nourishing; gAH-the cows; tri-jagati-in the three worlds; nija-own; gotram-name; sArthakam-meaningful; khyApayan-proclaiming; me-of me. O Govardhana, O hill that by nourishing the cows with its water, grass, and the shade of its trees declares to the three worlds the appropriateness of its own name, please grant to me residence near you. One who carefully reads these ten nectar verses describing zrIla Govardhana, the king of mountains, will very soon reside near that blissful hill and quickly attain the precious jewel of the service to the handsome divine couple.
