  1. Sats is surrounded by sycophants. He could read The Playboy Adviser before japa and the yes men would tell him that its the right thing to do. He had siksa gurus in Sridhar Maharaja and Narayana Maharaja and he was forced by the GBC to renounce them in the 80's and 90's respectively. And I really believe that he was forced to be a Zonal by the GBC of the time. The whole thing drove him crazy and there are persons who will have to answer for what they have done. On the other hand there are many who want a watered down version of Iskcon, and now they are getting what they desire.
  2. France was a very scary place to be in nineteen-forty! La France était un endroit très effrayant à être dans dix-neuf-quarante!
  3. More from Gurukrpa BY: BHAKTA DASA Feb 10, INDIA (SUN) — Question: The other day you answered some questions. We have received about 50 responses. People want to know more. Do you have any more to say? Answer: Srila Prabhupada ordered me to take sannyasa when I was 22 years old. And I objected, but I did it. Then he ordered me to be a GBC when there was only eleven. I was made the twelfth GBC. I never had any interest in this type of management. I only believed that we should surrender ourselves, and chant, dance, hear Srimad Bhagavatam and Gita, and KRSNA will do the rest. Srila Prabhupada told me, "Just surrender to KRSNA and you will never be the loser." I once asked him what is the most important verse in the shastra and he said: yasya deve para bhaktir yatha deve tatha gurau Tasyaite kathita hy arthau prakacante mahatmanau "Only unto those great souls who have implicit faith in both the Lord and the spiritual master are all the imports of Vedic knowledge automatically revealed." [CU 6.23] He also said, "Yasya prasadad bhagavat prasado yasya prasadana gatih kutopi"... This is a descending process. It comes to you when KRSNA is pleased by sincere service. It is ever expanding, and nothing can check it. You cannot force your way through the eight elements to the spiritual world. "ye TU sarvani karmani". But those who worship Me, giving up all their activities unto Me and being devoted to Me without deviation, engaged in devotional service and always meditating upon Me, having fixed their minds upon Me, O son of Prtha-for them I am the swift deliverer from the ocean of birth and death. Bhagavad-gita 12.6-7 This is the qualification. When KRSNA is pleased with you, HE reveals Himself. KRSNA said first, "I am talking to you, because you are not ENVIOUS of ME", and second because you have all these qualities. "One who is not envious but is a kind friend to all living entities, who does not think himself a proprietor and is free from false ego, who is equal in both happiness and distress, who is tolerant, always satisfied, self-controlled, and engaged in devotional service with determination, his mind and intelligence fixed on Me-such a devotee of Mine is very dear to Me." Do the GBC leaders have these qualities? They have taken the position as our leaders. We are fallen. They must have more qualities than we have. The do not invite their Godbrothers to participate. And they come to Vrindaban and hide up in Goverdhan with their little programs. I have heard some of them say, "All year we have people talking to us, and now we need a break." I never heard Srila Prabhupada say this. One time the very sweet Gurudas Prabhu told Srila Prabhupada, "Sometimes I feel compassionate for the conditioned souls." Srila Prabhupada answered, "Why not all the time?" Stop bluffing. You talk the talk. Why not walk the walk? Why not come and offer us some service and see who will take it up? One time in Hawaii, 1975, Srila Prabhupada flew to the Big Island, just me and him alone looking for Goursundar dasa. And when we found him, Srila Prabhupada sat there and said, "What offense I have done that you have left? Please forgive me. It must have been me." Tears were rolling out of Srila Prabhupada's eyes. Another time when Madhuvisa Prabhu left, I was in New Zealand with Srila Prabhupada. At 3 AM we were talking. He told me, "Do not tell anyone he has left. Keep it in the family." Again he cried. Srila Prabhupada loved his devotees. How unhappy he is to see Maya reclaim them! These people can care less. They could care less where any of their Godbrothers are or where they are going, but they take the title of Governing Body Commissioner. They will all have to become dogs and pigs in their next life for this offense, in my opinion. Now, no one knows who are the HARE KRISHNAS! The other night, fifty devotees went out in the streets of Kao San Road in Bangkok, packed with thousands of international travelers. Dozens came up and asked, "Who are you? What are you doing?" No one knows us anymore! Always at Srila Prabhupada's lotus feet, Gurukrpa ISKCON Guru Gives Nonsense Instructions BY: KIWI SPIRIT Feb 10, NEW ZEALAND (SUN) — The following is taken from Satsvarupa’s web journal entitled, Tachycardia . Satsvarupa tells us that this journal writing has now become his main service: “I am telling devotees my main service nowadays is to write this journal. It is my preaching to share my prayers to you and report on my japa and other thoughts. It is my little contribution to Prabhupada's Krsna consciousness movement.” Satsvarupa is famous for his writings, such as his book, Japa Reform Notebook . Here are some of Satsvarupa’s latest strategies for good healthy japa. He writes: “Strategies for staying awake while chanting japa in the morning: 1. Get up at 4:00 A.M. and read Matthew Arnold’s Dover Beach (if you can find it) and then begin chanting. 2. If you cannot find Arnold, then read William Blake’s entire Songs of Innocence and then begin chanting. 3. Get up at 4:00 A.M. and look for the poems of Zimmerman on your bookshelf. If you cannot find them, go back and take a nap. 4. Get up at 4:00 A.M., take your shower and begin chanting. If you get tired, go take a nap and try to get up within an hour for more chanting. 5. Get up at 4:00 A.M. and begin chanting (on clicker) at 000 and don’t stop until you’ve reached 432 (four rounds). Try to make at least four rounds before 7:30. Better make it eight rounds.” Satsvarupa also gives instructions on how to avoid prajalpa (frivolous talk) during lunch. He writes: "Dhanurdhara Swami and I read from a book, Roadblocks in the Path of Bhakti , by Prabhupada Sri Sri 108 Tinkodi Goswami Maharaja’s most fallen servant, Sri Binod Bihari dasa. We read that one should talk only about God. This made me think that Nitai-Gauranga and Dattatreya often speak prajalpa (frivolous talk) during lunch. After our reading, I called our two men together and told them what we had read and said that we should only talk about God. Today particularly the talk was foolish, all about martial arts movies. I said the talk was not good for their Krishna consciousness and was also an insult to me, because I just sat at the table and was ignored... We considered eating in complete silence, but decided that we would play lecture tapes by Professor Dreyfus, of the University of California, and other professors on spiritual/intellectual topics, like Kierkegaard, existentialism, Greek civilization, Moby Dick, etc. etc.” <center></center>
  4. During the time of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur, brahmanas who became Gaudiya Vaisnavas under his guidance took their threads off. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur wanted to emphasize the point that Vaisnavas were more than brahmanas, so he gave the thread and the traditional Gayatri manta as the first line in a series of mantras at diksa. Those who received these mantras also received the thread (males). Part of this was a preaching strategy aimed at the Smarta brahmanas who thought of themselves as superior to Vaisnavas just my their birth.
  5. Srila Rupa Goswami only focuses on Vrndavana, and does not admit that Krsna leaves Vrndavana for He is there is the tears of the Vrajavasis. Srila Sanatana Goswami traces Krsna lila from Vrndavana to Mathura to Dvaraka. Which one is right? Ome commentor says that Ramananda Raya is Visakha and Swarupa Damodara is Lalita, another says that Ramananda Raya is Lalita and Swarupa Damodara is Lalita. Which one is right?
  6. If anyone proposes that supposed Vaisnavas act in a humble manner according to the dictates of their teachers, then that person: 1) can be construed as a hypocrite. And: 2) can be construed as sanctimonious person who is taking a holier-than-thou attitude. If one is a sincere seeker of the truth, no matter their affiliation, they must take a humble position. And although I am writing this I am trying to somehow look at my own position, and pray that I do not cause anyone to lose faith in Sri Bhagavan in any form that one is attracted. We may have difficulty in controlling our senses and we may have a very mundane side of our personality, but if we are to represent a postion of saintly, predecessor acaryas in any Vaisnava line then we are duty bound to not misrepresent them by taking an offensive and argumentative approach.
  7. Is Justin a sincere seeker of truth or a person who derives pleasure in insulting others?
  8. Just by aligning with a sampradaya will hardly suffice. On must practice the sadhana under the guidance of a real guru and then search for the truth of the sadhana from within and without. Anyone who does that in any Vaisnava sampradaya should genuinely be respected. Then their are various kinds of hypocrisy that we are all guilty of to various degrees. Which kind is your favorite?
  9. Kaiser = <!--n--><!--m--> SOSE = Save Often, Save Early. But how can the Kaiser save anyone since the Great War has been lost? OR
  10. The point is that people who rely only on mundane logic will never accept any kind of theism. Theists from other branches of faith will generally recognize only their own deity. One will have to question what Justin's inner motive is? From observing his tone through his posts, it seems that his mood is to break faith. Perhaps his own faith is extremely shallow and undeveloped or so it seems.
  11. The point is that many would believe that the Sri Vaishnavas are spreading false stories about reality. This group would include advaitans or monists, all forms of Buddhists, and certainly those in the Abramahamic religions. I don't believe that atheists or Marxist Leninists and especially Maoists would agree either. Every tradition that has concepts of a world or dimensions beyond what we can see with our fleshy eyes cannot prove these things in a scientific laboratory under the electron microscope. If we start looking further into Sri Vaisnavism we will find things that just don't add up from that perspective. So get out of that perspective and stop adding. You're not helping anybody, including yourself.
  12. Ultimately for those without vijnana, everything remains an issue of faith. Go tell the Christians that Shriman Narayana is a bonafide manifestation of God and they will tell you that such an idea is a fairy tale concocted by the devil himself. See if you can get the Islamisists to drink that cocktail, also.
  13. I am convinced that ritvik initiations would have been the best interpretation and the best way to go for the beginning of the post-Prabhupada-manifest period. At least for the first 10 - 30 years; and I don't buy some Ten Thousand Reich. But long time has passed and the cat of GBC gurus got out of the bag a long time ago. What about Tamal Krsna Goswami's disciples? Its like telling a widow with grown children (who also now have children) that, "you were really never married." What's the point of that going on 33 years later? It seems to me that some of Srila Prabhupada's Indian sanyassis were qualified persons, but not all, and that's another story.
  14. In Gaudiya Vaisnavism the words of the acaryas or saints is considered as good as Puranic sastra itself. Consequently unlike other traditions, especially in the West, there is no real distinction between the scripture itself and the commentaries of the saintly acaryas. Sometimes these acaryas have different opinion on a specific subject. Sometimes they are giving a different angle of vision. And sometimes they are taking the liberty of using the same terminology in different ways. Thus some acaryas say that the word 'jiva' refers to conditioned souls only and some say that it refers to the soul in the liberated state also. Some commentators say that the jiva is tatastha only in the conditioned state and some say that they are tatastha in also the liberated state. Sometimes Srila Prabhupada uses the apparently contradictory thoughts of these commentators as if he is simply presenting them without giving an opinion. Sometimes the saintly commentators even use different defintions for the same words, like 'tatastha' and 'jiva'. Sometimes the same commentator uses different definitions in separate parts of their own work or even give concepts that contradict what they themselves have already given. This seems so obvious. Yet still especially on this forum and on these related topics, most posters act as if this never happens and that there is only one opinion and one definition that is correct. When I bring this up the waring parties call me a "fence sitter". This kind of thinking ultimately culminates in GBC proclamations on the Truth and such things as Rtvik ideas of a 'final order'. The modern mentality seems to desire to take Gaudiya Vaisnavism into the same realms as the Catholic Church was in the Middle Ages. It makes one think that such institutions and institutional thinking is draging us into a new 'dark age'.
  15. In your paradigm you must ignore things that are right in front of your face like this quote from TLC. Who do you think wrote TLC? Here is the 'smoking gun', what more evidence do you need? But you act as if no evidences from Srila Prabhupada's books are given. If you can't deal with this quote from TLC and see that it calls into question what you are writing then it goes far beyond the idea of nonsense and your very sanity must be questioned.
  16. <table><tbody><tr><td>Madhya-līlā</td><td class="m">Chapter 22: The Process of Devotional Service</td></tr></tbody></table>Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Śrī Caitanya Caritāmṛta Madhya 22.11 'nitya-mukta' — nitya kṛṣṇa-caraṇe unmukha 'kṛṣṇa-pāriṣada' nāma, bhuñje sevā-sukha SYNONYMS nitya-mukta — eternally liberated; nitya — always; kṛṣṇa-caraṇe — the lotus feet of Lord Kṛṣṇa; unmukha — turned toward; kṛṣṇa-pāriṣada — associates of Lord Kṛṣṇa; nāma — known as; bhuñje — enjoy; sevā-sukha — the happiness of service. TRANSLATION "Those who are eternally liberated are always awake to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and they render transcendental loving service at the feet of Lord Kṛṣṇa. They are to be considered eternal associates of Kṛṣṇa, and they are eternally enjoying the transcendental bliss of serving Kṛṣṇa. [srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja:] This verse (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta Madhya-lila 22.11) conveys a very important point. Those who are senior in bhakti will greatly benefit by attentively hearing the meaning of this verse. Those who are beginners may not be able to comprehend the meaning, but they will profit by even trying to understand. The liberated jivas are eternal associates of Sri Krsna, always engaged in serving Him and always tasting and relishing the sweetness of their service. In the Lord's abode there is no maya (the material potency, which bewilders the conditioned soul and encourages him to identify with his body and bodily extensions). Only yogamaya (the spiritual potency that nourishes the service mood of liberated souls) is there. There is nothing in the spiritual world to make one forget Krsna, and therefore the Lord's associates there cannot forget Him or become adverse to Him. The love and affection of these associates is always fresh and ever-new. Even though, on one hand, there is no room for their ever-fresh love to become still newer, it does so.
  17. The idea that the jiva glanced at the material energy and was captivated by it instantly, must be seen in the light that the Lord is omniscient. The omniscient Lord, Bhagavan, has made the arrangement that there is no need of an envious jiva to entire Vaikuntha and disturb the atmosphere there. The test takes place at the very beginning but actually there is no beginning; now ponder that! The words 'tatastha' in Sanskrit and 'marginal' in English are just words. It is not like the eternal living entities are branded, 'tatastha', nor do they get the word tatooed on their behind. Except of course for Gauragopala who has 'marginal' tatooed in his brain.
  18. <!--mstheme--> Organized Religion by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Sri Krishna manifests His eternal birth, the pure cognitive essence of the serving soul who is located above all mundane limitations. King Kamsa [the demon king who wanted to kill Lord Krishna] is the typical empiricist, ever on the lookout for the appearance of the truth for the purpose of suppressing Him before He has time to develop. This is no exaggeration of the real connotation of the consistent empiric position. The materialist has a natural repugnance for the transcendent. He is disposed to link that faith in the incomprehensible is the parent of dogmatism and hypocrisy in the guise of religion. He is also equally under the delusion that there is no real dividing line between the material and the spiritual. He is strengthened in his delusion by the interpretation of scriptures by persons who are like-minded with himself. This includes all the lexicographic interpreters. The lexicographical interpretation is upheld by Kamsa as the real scientific explanation of the scriptures, and is perfectly in keeping with his dread of and aversion for the transcendental. These lexicographical interpreters are employed by Kamsa in putting down the first suspected appearance of any genuine faith in the transcendental. King Kamsa knows very well that if the faith in the transcendental is once allowed to grow it is sure to upset all his empiric prospects. There is historical ground for such misgivings. Accordingly if the empiric domination is to be preserved in tact it would be necessary not to lose a moment to put down the transcendental heresy the instant it threatens to make its appearance in earnest. King Kamsa, acting on this traditional fear, is never slow to take the scientific precaution of deputing empiric teachers of the scriptures, backed by the resources of dictionary and grammar and all empiric subtleties to put down, by the show of specious arguments based on hypothetical principles, the true interpretation of the eternal religion revealed by the scriptures. Kamsa is strongly persuaded that faith in the transcendental can be effectively put down by empiricism if prompt and decisive measures are adopted at the very outset. He attributes the failure of atheism in the past to the neglect of the adoption of such measures before the theistic fallacy has had time to spread among the fanatical masses. But Kamsa is found to count without his host. When Krishna is born, He is found to be able to upset all sinister designs against those who are apprized by Himself of His advent. The apparently causeless faith displayed by persons irrespective of age, sex and condition may confound all rabid empiricists who are on principle adverse to the Absolute Truth Whose appearance is utterly incompatible with the domination of empiricism. But no adverse efforts of the empiricists whose rule seems till then to be perfectly well-established over the minds of the deluded souls of this world can dissuade any person from exclusively following the Truth when He actually manifests His birth in the pure cognitive essence of the soul. Putana [the demoness who tried to kill Krishna] is the slayer of all infants. The baby, when he or she comes out of the mother's womb, falls at once into the hands of the pseudo-teachers of religion. These teachers are successful in forestalling the attempts of the good preceptor whose help is never sought by the atheists of this world at the baptism of their babies. This is ensured by the arrangements of all established churches of the world. They have been successful only in supplying watchful Putanas for effecting the spiritual destruction of persons from the moment of their birth with cooperation of their worldly parents. No human contrivance can prevent these Putanas from obtaining possession of their pulpits. This is due to the general prevalence of atheistic disposition in the people of this world. The church that has the best chance of survival in this damned world is that of atheism under the convenient guise of theism. The churches have always proved the staunchest upholders of the grossest form of worldliness from which even the worst of non-ecclesiastical criminals are found to recoil. It is not from any deliberate opposition to the ordained clergy that these observations are made. The original purpose of the established churches of the world may not always be objectionable. But no stable religious arrangement for instructing the masses has yet been successful. The Supreme Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, in pursuance of the teachings of the scriptures enjoins all absence of conventionalism for the teachers of the eternal religion. It does not follow that the mechanical adoption of the unconventional life by any person will make him a fit teacher of religion. Regulation is necessary for controlling the inherent worldliness of conditioned souls. But no mechanical regulation has any value, even for such a purpose. The bona-fide teacher of religion is neither any product of, nor the favourer of, any mechanical system. In his hands no system has likewise the chance of denigrating into a lifeless arrangement. The mere pursuit of fixed doctrines and fixed liturgies cannot hold a person to the true spirit of doctrine or liturgy. The idea of an organized church in an intelligible form, indeed, marks the close of the living spiritual movement. The great ecclesiastical establishments are the dikes and dams to retain the current that cannot be held by any such contrivances. They, indeed, indicate a desire on the part of the masses to exploit a spiritual movement for their own purpose. They also unmistakably indicate the end of the absolute and unconventional guidance of the bona-fide spiritual teacher. The people of this world understand preventive systems, they have no idea at all of the unprevented positive eternal life. Neither can there be any earthy contrivance for the permanent preservation of the life eternal on this mundane plane on the popular scale. Those are, therefore, greatly mistaken who are disposed to look forward to the amelioration of the worldly state in any worldly sense from the worldly success of any really spiritual movement. It is these worldly expectants who become the patrons of the mischievous race of the pseudo-teachers of religion, the Putanas, whose congenial function is to stifle the theistic disposition at the very moment of its suspected appearance. But the theistic disposition can never be stifled by the efforts of those Putanas. The Putanas have power only over the atheist. It is a thankless but salutary task which they perform for the benefit of their unwilling victims. But as soon as theistic disposition proper makes its appearance in the pure cognitive essence of the awakened soul, the Putanas are decisively silenced at the very earliest stage of their encounter with the new-born Krishna. The would-be slayer of herself slain. This is the reward of the negative services that the Putanas unwittingly render to the cause of theism by strangling all hypocritical demonstrations against their own hypocrisy. But Putana does not at all like to receive her reward in only form which involves the total destruction of her wrong personality. King Kamsa also does not like to lose the services of the most trusted of his agents. The effective silencing of the whole race of pseudo-teachers of religion is the first clear indication of the appearance of the Absolute on the mundane plane. The bona-fide teacher of the Absolute, heralds the Advent of Krishna by his uncompromising campaign against the pseudo-teachers of religion. <nobr></nobr><!--webbot bot="Navigation" endspan i-checksum="39930" --> <!--mstheme-->

  20. I Walk the Line by Hari Cash I keep a close watch on this heart of mine I keep my eyes wide open all the time I keep the ends out for the tie that binds Because you're mine, I walk the line I find it very, very easy to be true I find myself alone when each day is through Yes, I'll admit that I'm a fool for you Because you're mine, I walk the line As sure as night is dark and day is light I keep you on my mind both day and night And happiness I've known proves that it's right Because you're mine, I walk the line You've got a way to keep me on your side You give me cause for love that I can't hide For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide Because you're mine, I walk the line I keep a close watch on this heart of mine I keep my eyes wide open all the time I keep the ends out for the tie that binds Because you're mine, I walk the line
  21. Sure he did. Sometimes we have to see that the real guru knows everything. Sometimes we need to be logical. Gurukrpa had drug problems at that time and he has admitted it.
