i have heard too that people practice specific mantras to control but i don't believe in it. in my opinion no can be superior to God and if you believe in him then nothing can harm you.

Yes, this is an issue, but it seems to be one we may make for ourselves through doubting. So the best remedy perhaps is to tackle the doubt we have oursevles. We cannot necessarily convince others (due to our skin, hair colour, language etc), but by removing our own fears and doubts we can free up our mind to concentrate and learn how to be "good Hindus", how to understand scripture, have respect for people and the world around us. We can also have an open mind to learning how to behave respectfully in temples or when visiting Hindu homes, for example.

 

The point is that whilst we hold some baggage or concerns, we may feel clumsy and not feel at peace with Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism). So the more we can address our concerns and leave our baggage the more we will act with consideration and due care.

I totally agree. rather than feeling let down one should concentrate on self spiritual enlightenment because hinduism is not about visiting temples only but also about spiritual growth.

it is true that lord Shiva loves to smoke marijuana and drinks a delicious drink made from Bhaang and people who follow Shiva also smoke marijuana and drink Bhaang but it is done only on special occassions like Maha Shivratri and not as a habit.

spirit: aatman. you can search online for these words for their devnagri transcript.

9 mukhi Rudraksha is the manifestation of Nav Durga. you can wear it in your finger or around your neck. there is no problem in either way.

I am not sure about the communication part but i have heard that in hinduism we have a way to satisfy the departed souls and seek their blessings which is called Tarpanam. it is a sacred ritual and is most fruitful if performed on a New Moon day.
