    "Library"

do google search for omkarananda ashram, and go to its sanskrit web page.
  4. No, make them more human. << What is the untold story in the Dead Sea scrolls? Perhaps we will never know fully. >> Why so when << On September 22, 1991 the Huntington Library of California, which had photocopies of all Dead Sea scrolls, released them. >> ?? Please use a good username if you start a serious discussion.
  5. one who is more and more serious practicener of hinduism he/she will control his sneses more and more, and will not not do anythig that makes him/her not know the reality/truth. are you considering following hinduism?
  6. krishna describes in gita what a brahmin (brahmana) is. no need to re define what he/she is. << TRY TO RESERVE A PLACE THEIR instead of getting a place in this forum. >> i tihink you mean to say: << TRY TO RESERVE A PLACE there in vaikuntha instead of getting a place in this forum or in this world. >> now how can you reserve a place if there is terrorism around you and in your home or neighborhood or country? Are you sayng, "don't care what happens to your relatives, in the society, and the country. just let them go to hell, but be very selfish and go to god alone in his dhama" ? please use a good username if want to discuss more.
  7. dear maadhav sir, you first stated this line, "per bhagavatam, saraswati is brahma's daughter." Then you asked "when did brahma marry?" I meant: when did brahma marry to saraswati, if the poster says he married to saraswati. The question is not for info, but to challange the opposing argument. << I dont understand how Bhrama can have daughter without marrying? >> Brahma was not born in the womb of a woman. God taksed him to create when he was alone in the creation. per bhagavatam, he tried/experimented different ways to create. he created from his mind. his mind-sons refused to create. shiva was born from his nose. saraswati was born from brahma without a wife. finally brahma found an automation way to create. he created male and female from his body (manu and shatarupa) who created by sex acts. please read bhagvatam. it describes several ways that were used in anctint time to create life without sex. e.g. a child was created from the thigh of a freshly dead king.
  8. antavat tu phalam tesAm tad bhavati alpa-medhasAm devAn deva-yajo yanti mad-bhaktA yAnti mam api "Men of small intelligence worship the demigods, and their fruits are limited and temporary. Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods, but My devotees ultimately reach My supreme planet." So, the destinations are different.

  11. good poat. thanks. << When Sri Krishna says in the Gita that all religions lead to him, he was referring to the different religious sects in India at that time. >> yes, to be precise, all different vedic paths or yogas. does nto include anti-vedic paths.
  12. okay, keep chanting constantly. till you know what krishna says in gita.
  13. << There is no *difference in* result in the realizations gained >> krishna does not say so in gita. many questions about Hinduism are answered in gita. one should read it before shooting random questions and answers.

anti-hindus produce their literature which cannot help one to know hinduism. which religion is the best in your view? how much effort you hve done to really know the truth about other religions and compare with open mind? do you practie any religion seriously?
  15. Hinduism so far is not a organized religion. there is no one to enforce anything. the practice of dharma is voluntary. trasitions and customes develop as solutions to problems. they are changed as time requires. if a widow chooses to not marry then it is her freedom to choose so. try to elarn the see teh vedic culture frome the view point of the vedic people, nto from the view point of the ant- vedic people. what prompted you to know this? are you considering accepting hinduism and worried that if you become a widow, then you will have hard tiome to re-marry?

  17. very good resposne, sephiroth. dhanyawad! barney has split personality. i think that he sometimes cuts and pastes some wiser's work, and when he writes himself, you can see his personality. sometimes i have doubted if he really is pro-hindu.
  18. This will not make xians and muslims chant it. Nor will they agree to it. Try posting to their formus and see ther esponses. The subject line will only fool the Hindus who mistakenly will think all religions are same. gayatrmi mantra (or not any single mantra) is not the whole of Hinduism.
  19. It is same as Hindu calendar. There are no state calendars.
  20. God does not get old. he can look in any form to different people at the same time. it is his choice. if you love god, you can request him to appear in a perticular form. if your faith and love is strong, he will please you.

birth in human form is rare and a great opperrtuity to get out of the cycles of births/deaths. what one does and wishes in one's human body determines a series of births in various species, but all do not remember previous births, some do. there was an artificial small and shallow pond in a lady's back yard and had a golden fish about 8-10 inch long. she had a dog to. the lady noticed that the dog will sit at the edge of the pond and stare at the fish with affection. then the fish would come very close and stare at the dog. the dog would sit for long time there staring at the fish, and the fish would stare at the dog, as if both love each other. this love could be due to their previous births experiences. fyi, there is no eternal hell per hinduism, and no one stays inanimal body for ever, one will get human body again if lost it. a sould could get non human body between two human births. it is a common experience that most people like some person(s) naturally, and do not like some others naturally, for no reason. that is due to the experiences of previous births.

each living being has a soul in it. it never dies, but changes bodies, takes next birth after a death. that is incarnation.
  23. it is what you do, how much and how well, for Krishna and His devotees; for Hindus and Hinduism, and Hindustan, how sin-free you lived and helped other live sin-free, etc.
  24. okay ravi, now that I know you, i will give some answer becaue you want to know sincerely. in our vedic culture - idealy - a female is always protected by paretns when she is a child, by brothers and father when she is unmarried, and by husband and sons when she is married. a woman has a lot of capacity and inclination to give and receive love to all. initially, several milleniums ago girus used to take yajnopavita like boys, lathert this tradition changed and now man wears her yajnopavita also if married. a temple is a community place, and some who come there may get unduely attracted to the priest if she is a young women. theis could cause sinful activity. to avoid such happening, the poojaris are males, and mostly married. however, ammachi is a great mystic saint. she raises womens as poojariNis with her blessing. th scriptures do not forbid it. all the Vedic social customs are voluntarily chosen from scriptures and them modifed according to circumstanecs, to avoid trouble or unwanted things from happening. no one enforces rules, but they are accepted voluntarily per guidance from gurus, sadhus, and shastras. a vedic woman chooses to think her husband as a deity, and worsips him. she prefers to agree withhim and not insult him or argue with him. a man perfers to consult with his wifel also if he knows that she is smarter/wiser in some aspects. thus vedic spouses do not compete with each other, but augment each other willingly and respectfully. hope it helps. ------------------- i have a suggstion for the vedic teenagers: when you want to learn about hinduism, please ask but in such a way that it shows you respect hinduism and so want to learn, and are not critisizing or looking down at it. rest assured that if you hate the vedic culture, then it means you do not know correctly what it is. so please be eager to know the truth from good sources. once you know the truth, i am sure your respect for the vedic culture and dharma will increase.
