1. When proven wrong in black and white, the so-called "Kali Chela Hunter" did not retract his insinuation - thereby revealing himself to be the Kali Chela? Is it not? Where is the integrity, the sincerity? It is only misplaced adrenalin and arrogance.
2. There are Srila Prabhupada quotes that sound very much like the last quote here. He strongly recommends the chanting of the Panca-tattva mantra in the beginning. I fear it is dangerous to pretend to be experts in such a subtle science - offence is hard to overcome. It is better to look inwardly. This is not the quote I had in mind but it is the one that arrived first: http://vedabase.net/cc/adi/8/16/en --- Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvate Thakura says in this connection that although one may go on chanting the Hare Krsna mantra for many, many years, there is no possibility of attaining the platform of devotional service unless one accepts Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Here it is or at least one something like it: http://vedabase.net/cc/adi/8/31/en [...] There are offenses to be considered in chanting the Hare KRSNa mahA-mantra, but there are no such considerations in chanting the names of Gaura-NityAnanda. Therefore, if one chants the Hare KRSNa mahA-mantra but his life is still full of sinful activities, it will be very difficult for him to achieve the platform of loving service to the Lord. But if in spite of being an offender one chants the holy names of Gaura-NityAnanda, he is very quickly freed from the reactions to his offenses. Therefore, one should first approach Lord Caitanya and NityAnanda, or worship Guru-GaurAGga, and then come to the stage of worshiping RAdhA-KRSNa. [...] In the beginning one should very regularly chant SrI Gaurasundara's holy name and then chant the holy name of Lord NityAnanda. [...] A neophyte student who is not sufficiently educated or enlightened should not indulge in the worship of SrI RAdhA and KRSNa or the chanting of the Hare KRSNa mantra. Even if he does so, he cannot get the desired result. One should therefore chant the names of NitAi-Gaura and worship Them without false prestige. When the topic is not black and white, we should not splash red paint, for surely some of it (if not all of it) will land on us.
3. As it always is: Krs na. And you got us there so very very beautifully.
4. Hare Krishna, 1) Milk 2) Butter 3) Raspberries 4) bananas
5. Thank you MnM, for hanging this rose on my poem. It added something for me that I hadn't yet seen. And maybe tomorrow they'll be something else. That's the beauty of poetry with its unsaid words, pregnant words and dashes and commas that dance nuances forever - the infinite language of love. Krs na. Krsna - now that's poetry.
6. I was counting on Eminem_das from skateboard Mecca for that. Carve me a line, young Siddhartha.
7.
By the rays of the sun, even the moon, We can see - dark matter, all around. The soul, however, is so bright that, There is just no dark matter to see. And only the Supersoul can really be seen, For He Just Is - infinitely more effulgent than we.

8. No one should dare to belittle the pastimes of the Lord. When we speak of Krsna's incarnation as Lord Krishna we must always remember that He is the primal Person, the Cause of all causes and All that is. It is upon His absolutely unique existence that everything rests ("as pearls are strung on a thread" as He Himself said). Everything, everyone, every incarnation flows from God, Sri Krsna as evidenced in the Srimad Bhagavatam verse 1.3.28:
ete AMza-kalAH puMsaH kRSNas tu bhagavAn svayam indrAri-vyAkulaM lokaM mRDayanti yuge yuge
ete--all these; ca--and; aMza--plenary portions; kalAH--portions of the plenary portions; puMsaH--of the Supreme; kRSNaH--Lord KRSNa; tu--but; bhagavAn--the Personality of Godhead; svayam--in person; indra-ari--the enemies of Indra; vyAkulam--disturbed; lokam--all the planets; mRDayanti--gives protection; yuge yuge--in different ages. All of the above-mentioned incarnations are either plenary portions or portions of the plenary portions of the Lord, but Lord SrI KRSNa is the original Personality of Godhead. All of them appear on planets whenever there is a disturbance created by the atheists. The Lord incarnates to protect the theists. The Raja may have preached according to time and circumstance, not focussing on Deity worship to appease the invaders. The Most Merciful Lord Caitanya however, stood tall and let the intruders bow at His feet.
9. Please, no flyers on cars. Too crass. This is God we're talking about. Remember that: it is God.
10. Srila Sridhara: Our aspiration should be for such a life. We can sincerely foster the idea to feel attraction to a life of such a plane where everything is of a musical character. This is the land of Vrndavan. This is the land where God is eternally engaged in a sweet play of love with all surrendered souls. Vrndavan is so friendly, so sweet, so near to us, and such a “well-wisher” of ours. We are quite at home there – sweet, sweet home. In our innate and innermost existence we are members of that plane. Now we have come out, and we have scattered our consciousness all over the surface. Cover, cover, cover – there are so many layers but they are all dry things. And the substance is within. Eliminating this bodily cover, the mental cover, the egoistic cover – I may enter into the land of Vrndavan – the land of love. Vrndavan resides within me, and there I can find my friends everywhere. They are my friends and relatives, and they will give me an all-too-pleasing experience – ecstasy.
11. It is like any 'religion'. If you can't do it, then focus on the organization. If you can't renounce and surrender to the Kingdom of God, then build a bunch of rules and regulations by which you can fool yourself into divinity. Quarrel about ISKCON management, philosophy, etc. and forget Krsna's lotus feet. It's the poseur way of life - cheaters cheating the cheaters, and themselves.
12. During Ramadan I've taken the opportunity to engage Islam in dialog about God. They are more receptive then. I've yet to meet one who knows that God is a person. When I suggest that God is a person I fear for my life for the hatred is not far below the surface, and my death is sanctioned by Muhammed (PBUH) in his mind.
13. Talk of God? But who or I guess more precisely, what is this God our man is praising? It's actually a long way from Vaishnavism.
14. Well, it's not us versus them anyway. Never has been. We just need them to understand that Krsna is God .... not the devil like that moron priest in Russia thinks? and the idiot jihadists of yesteryear fantacized to ratonalize their wickedness. My experience in the badlands is that nonsectarian preaching benefits them the most. Of course in the process a little Hari Nama is sure to evolve. Lift them up. Don't destroy what little faith they may have ... they don't have the inclination to earn more.
15. When I meet a Canadian in a foreign land we seem to be friends immediately.
16. He told us to eat what God gives us. [Matthew 6] [...] Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you . [...]
17. It will be my loss if we lose someone so humble, sincere and honest. That humility is our actual position. Srila Prabhupada is no ordinary preacher. His words reach everyone at their own level; a man off the street and the sannyasi both derive perfection from every word. Once we've started falling in love there is no way to stop the process. Soon enough, my dear friend Sanatan, you will be transformed by that love as it continues to swell. Not even your mind can defeat you.
18. Next time try this (it must come from the heart): http://vedabase.net/iso/15/en
19. My sentiments exactly. ----!
20. One might however see the British as the ones that saved the Hindus from the invaders/occupiers from the north. A lesser evil?
21. That was a good perspective. It made me feel very happy to have stumbled into Lord Caitanya's path somehow.
22. As a travelling consultant, I had to stay in five-star hotels with untold material opulence. All I really remember are the temples there. That is real opulence.
