Jahnavi Dasi Medical Update
livingentity replied to Jahnava Nitai Das's topic in Spiritual Discussions
No, this is a different Jahnavi devi dasi. At least that is what someone else has told me. I have sent an email to her to verify. -
How many times did Srila Prabhupada announce Himself to be spiritual successor in the sampradaya? This is a serious question because I do not remember ever hearing Him say this or read Him saying this.

Find out what religion you are

LOL...I noted that when I was comparing everyone's results. There are some other quizzes listed on that site. I took a couple of them and my results are that I am bhakta (What Kind of Hindu are you? quiz) that knows a bit too much about the beatles (Beatles Spirituality Quiz) and with some hinduism mixed in for good measure (Hinduism Basics Quiz). Update: I am a "confident believer" sure of the path I have chosen to follow (What's your Spiritual Type? quiz) that is nuts about nature (Find your spiritual path quiz). -

What do you tell a 5 year old where babies come from?
livingentity replied to krsna's topic in Spiritual Discussions
I am still baffled by the whole thing and I was involved in the process once myself....actually twice if you include your own birth into these bodies. The ingesting thing might be a little scary for a five year to comprehend. I know I had this weird fear at that time of cannibals and the like. -
mature and immature. For some reasons, these words keep coming up in my head. ginko...was that a subliminal message tossed in? LOL...

this is how it is! Good honest answer without un-needed details for a young child. -

I like that. I don't remember ever even wondering about it. I thought we just appeared. Poof...and there we were! I was raised as an only child by my father and paternal grandparents so there was not the typical mommy and daddy scene with siblings. Hence, I guess nothing around me ever sparked that curiousity. -
I listen to so many lectures and also do a lot of reading. It could have been in something I read also. I will keep trying. Darn 60's...ruined my short term memory...LOL!!!
-
I heard a lecture where Prabhupada speaks on this and I am trying very hard to find it for you. Perhaps someone else remembers it also and can help to find this lecture.

I love it...very cool story! Thanks for sharing this.

I have not seen any bugs on my dear Tulasi devi. I am always checking on her with she is outside sunny on the deck. I actually feel anxious when she is not in the house! She is so precious!

don't let the keyboard hit you in the a - s on the way out! (bad fingers, bad fingers!!! Stop that!!!) Is there such a thing as torrets of the fingers?

sometimes I wonder if giving someone a television might be considered a good thing. hmmm....

yup next time your child asks where babies come from all you have to do is show them this woman's picture!!! BTW...my paternal grandmother was the youngest of 21 children. She had brothers and sisters that she did not even really know because they were so much older than her. The rest of the story is this tho, the first 13 came from my grandmother's father's first wife. When she died (gee I wonder why?) he married their maid and fathered the remainder of the kids. This was in the 1800's.

Another baby!!! This woman needs a new hobby!! Woman has 15th baby and wants more! I think this lady can explain to your five year old where babies come from!!!
-
that's probably why I get such vivid pics when I read these things! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would love to see that!! I will have to remember this for myself (just sub the dhoti with a sari). This is too funny...you obviously live in Berkeley!!

for your tolerance and kindness to the devotees who follow Prabhupada and His teachings. Get a name if you desire to discuss this further. hmmm....isn't being "guest" mayavadi? Yes, I do believe it is. The desire to blend together as one guest entity and lose all individualility merging into the effulgence of cyber space.
