  4. I was able to get rid of a Ghost once long ago. I just ran through the house chanting Hare Krishna very loudly, and telling the Ghost to "get out"! Lit insence and chanting Hare Krishna, worked well, try it. Must be shouted!
  5. Had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100% The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, 'Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again.' The gentleman replied, 'Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times!'
  6. One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, 'My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.' The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: 'Which wolf wins?' The old Cherokee simply replied, 'The one you feed.'
  7. My dad used to visit the temple where i was during the late 70's and early 80's. Once we were taking prasadam in the Temple room, my dad entered to take Prasad too, but while walking over to me, i noticed him looking with a side glance. He seemed very fixed in his looking, so i asked him what he is looking at. He said, i am seeing Srila Prabhupada (on the Vyasasana, Murti form). He said he was looking to see him move, but he did not ever move! Silly dad, did'nt know that Prabhupada was in his Murti form, 'till i told him!

  9. then that would not be the "Brahma Madhva Guadiya Bhaktivedanta Sampradahya" it would be the Brahma Madhva Guadiya Sivaram Sampradahya
  10. Vrajanätha, “What is the final destination of those who worship Çré Gauräìga?” Raghunätha däsa Bäbäjé, “Çré Kåñëa and Çré Gauräìga are non-different in terms of tattva; they are the same Absolute Truth and both are the fountainheads of madhura-rasa, nectarean, honey-like mellows. However, there are two ways in which madhura-rasa manifests: mädhurya, transcendental conjugal sweetness; and audärya, transcendental magnanimity. When mädhurya is pre-eminent, Çré Kåñëa is manifest, and when audärya is prominent, Çré Gauräìga is manifest.
  11. For raising crops from the land, how many men will be required—that we must estimate and for herding the cows and feeding them. We must have sufficient pasturing ground to feed the animals all round. We have to maintain the animals throughout their life.
  12. Prabhupäda: "I am now amongst the members of Kåñëa conscious devotees. I am one of the devotees, and because I have taken this association, and because I am working under their direction, Kåñëa must be pleased, and He must give me protection. Therefore, I should not reserve anymore anything. Let me fully surrender." No reservation, fully surrendered. [break] Our business is we want to sell books, not to make money. Now, if you simply take it formally... Hayagréva has taken the formality. We have to keep some cows. Never mind we are to take payment from others. That is not cow protection. Cow protection means just like Bhagavän, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, He is tending the cows. He is going, taking the cows personally from His royal palace going to the forest whole day, working there. Is it not, cowherds boy? And taken some little fruit, mother, whatever mother has given. They are playing that. So this is cow protection, not that "Somebody will give money and we shall keep some third class cows and feed there and become cow protector."
  13. Without protection of cows, brahminical culture cannot be maintained; and without brahminical culture, the aim of life cannot be fulfilled....... if human society wants to be exalted, the leaders of society must follow the instructions of Bhagavad-gétä and give protection to the cows......... Protection of bulls and cows and all other animals can be possible only when there is a state ruled by an executive head like Mahäräja Parékñit. Mahäräja Parékñit addresses the cow as mother, for he is a cultured, twice-born, kñatriya king. Surabhi is the name of the cows which exist in the spiritual planets and are especially reared by Lord Çré Kåñëa Himself. As men are made after the form and features of the Supreme Lord, so also the cows are made after the form and features of the surabhi cows in the spiritual kingdom. In the material world the human society gives all protection to the human being, but there is no law to protect the descendants of Surabhi, who can give all protection to men by supplying the miracle food, milk.
  14. Search Youtube with "Hare Krishna - Holi Festival 2008 " I am still a "visiter" and so can not yet post outside URL's and so it is off to the test forum for me to get my 15 post to change all that..... Without warning, attendance skyrocketed from 4,000 last year to 10,000. Organizers simply could not have predicted the sudden popularity and in retrospect were not entirely prepared. Das put it this way: "Last year's festival was transcendental. This year's festival was good, but next year's will be transcendental again." Of the huge crowd, few came with any notion of the spiritual importance of the event, which many simply viewed as a party -- and their attitude showed. College students spread litter far and wide across the temple site, violated rules about removing shoes before entering the sanctuary, and stood on and even temporarily removed two huge golden elephant statues flanking the temple entrance from their pedestals, treating a sacred space like a carnival or worse.
  15. Read the below Quote on how the Holi Festival got a little out of hand this year!............
