Guest guest Report post Posted January 27, 2005 I put a blend of essential oils in a soap that was supposed to smell light and breezy like the ocean. The scent was fine for the first couple of weeks, but it's totally gone now. Here's the blend: 2 parts Lavender 1 part Rosemary 1 part Lemongrass Any ideas? Or can anyone suggest another oceany blend? TIA! -- Sandy
Guest guest Report post Posted January 27, 2005 Sandy, How much per lb. of oils did you use? Those shouldn't have lost their scent, but I know what you mean...some times the " soap grimlins " just hit for no apparent reason. the usage of those should have been at a rate of at least .7 oz./lb of oils and maybe higher. Don't have any other sea breeze ideas, but will wait with you for anyone to come up with some ideas. Anita - Sandy Wednesday, January 26, 2005 7:26 PM Ocean Blend? Guest guest Report post Posted January 28, 2005 I like my Ocean Breeze Bath Oil. 16 oz of carrier oil, 3 drops peppermint, 10 drops sweet orange, 5 drops sandalwood and 10 drops lavender. You could give this one a try. Kathy in Ohio - Anita Reeves 1/27/2005 11:19:29 AM Re: Ocean Blend? Sandy, How much per lb. of oils did you use? I'm going to try this one with an anchor added, and the other blend that was suggested. -- Sandy
Guest guest Report post Posted January 29, 2005 I make what I call my " Ocean Jasper " blend. Ocean Jasper The ocean jasper had to be complex blend featuring all its amazing colors and components-- Brings to mind gentle, slightly salty ocean breezes and sea side air. This one’s meant for dilution as massage oil and wearing as fragrance for peace of mind, patience, stability, meditation. (There are many variations on this one, but I think the critical ingredient is the Seaweed. Yes, it definitely smells like the ocean side. I wanted this ocean fragrance and got it! This one isn't my favorite by itself, but is great layered under a lighter blend.)
