Guest guest Report post Posted May 24, 2002 Due to the slowness of the group these days I've taken it upon myself to search through the archives for any previous adressing of the problem you have requested info on. This is a response from Master Fe on Crohn's disease from awhile back. In love and service Chris Kinross Greetings. MEDICAL INFORMATION: CROHN'S DISEASE " Crohn's disease causes inflammation in the small intestine. Crohn's disease usually occurs in the lower part of the small intestine, called the ileum, but it can affect any part of the digestive tract, from the mouth to the anus. The inflammation extends deep into the lining of the affected organ. The inflammation can cause pain and can make the intestines empty frequently, resulting in diarrhea. Crohn's disease is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), the general name for diseases that cause inflammation in the intestines. Crohn's disease can be difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are similar to other intestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome and to another type of IBD called ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis causes inflammation and ulcers in the top layer of the lining of the large intestine. Crohn's disease affects men and women equally and seems to run in some families. About 20 percent of people with Crohn's disease have a blood relative with some form of IBD, most often a brother or sister and sometimes a parent or child. Crohn's disease may also be called ileitis or enteritis. What Causes Crohn's Disease? Theories about what causes Crohn's disease abound, but none has been proven. The most popular theory is that the body's immune system reacts to a virus or a bacterium by causing ongoing inflammation in the intestine.People with Crohn's disease tend to have abnormalities of the immune system, but doctors do not know whether these abnormalities are a cause or result of the disease. Crohn's disease is not caused by emotional distress. What Are the Symptoms? The most common symptoms of Crohn's disease are abdominal pain, often in the lower right area, and diarrhea. Rectal bleeding, weight loss, and fever may also occur. Bleeding may be serious and persistent, leading to anemia. Children with Crohn's disease may suffer delayed development and stunted growth. " PRANIC HEALING TREATMENT: 1. Apply general sweeping. 2. Sweep the front and back solar plexus and the navel chakras, the stomach, and the small & large intestines thoroughly. Energize solar plexus and navel chakras with LWB, then with LWV. Repeat the sweeping and energizing on the affected part(s) several times until patient is relieved. 3. Sweep front and back heart chakra. Energize heart through the back heart chakra with LWG, then with LWV. 4. Sweep the basic chakra. Energize with LWR. 5. Repeat treatment 2 to 3 times a week. 6. Stabilize and release the projected energy. 7. You may also follow pranic healing protocol on " Enhancing the Immunity and Defense System, " Advanced Pranic Healing book. Guest guest Report post Posted July 22, 2002 Please remember when buying to avoid too cheap - you get what you pay for - check the ingredients etc to ensure that you are getting what you need. marianne > I had read a post that MSM could be useful in > treating Crohns disease. Guest guest Report post Posted July 22, 2002 I had read a post that MSM could be useful in treating Crohns disease. I don't know of any personal stories. You can buy it on the web cheap but most health food stores carry it. I would buy it locally first to try it and if it does help then find a cheap source on the web. It is useful for many other things. I took it for IBS and it solved my problem. If you never heard of it, the letters MSM is short for a long name. There is allot of information on the web if you do a search on with it even with the letter. This stuff is a nice pain reliever and reduces inflammation. Only a few people can't take it. It is a plant based sulpher made from wood. It is not the sulpher drug that the doctor gives you, that is a chemical. This stuff breaks down in your system. But I took it for a little over 4 months and found my system seemed to be storing it. So I stopped taking it. If your hair is falling out, this helps regrow and maintain your hair and nails. You can soak in the tub with it for body aches and to detox. I introduced it to my neighbor and she loves it, and loves to soak in it. Likes how her skin feels after a bath and even uses it as a rinse in her hair. Stopped her itchy scalp. Have you looked into seeing if L-glutamine would help Crohns disease? It is an amino acid that helps to support the bowels. Well that's all I know. Liz D.
Guest guest Report post Posted July 23, 2002 Hi Ambrose... Some of the following sites may help, others not. My ex-husband has Crohn's and he wound up in the hospital because his intestines split open. Coming from my own point of view, I would definitely take a nutritional approach to this disease. Some foods might be more costly if you buy for quality, but it's still cheaper than operations and costly medications from a doctor. I always feel that the best approach is to be your own doctor first. If going a more natural route doesn't bring relief then look at the alternative therapies available. Only if they fail, would I ever go to an allopathic physician for help. Do searches on the internet. The answers for you are out there if you do enough searching. Guest guest Report post Posted October 4, 2003 I was just rereading Dr.Sandra Cabot's book Liver and Bowel health, and she has a chapter on Crohns Disease amongst other bowel problems (coeliac, IBS). Well worth trying to get hold of a copy of her book and follow her guidelines. Dr. Sabot is well respected for her approach to health with alternative methods. Worth your time and money. Warm regards Hanneke~Australia Hi,Please let me know if you are using any natural product (e.g. aloe vera, fish oil etc) that you found successful in helping you to manage Crohn's disease. The medications tried todate have failed.Thanks.
