EVIDENCE OF NO REAL GOD

 

There is strong evidence that god beliefs are all nothing more than the

creations of man.

 

If there was a REAL god he would destroy the thousands of false gods and

establish his authenticity, wishes and commands directly from his heaven.

 

If man can communicate with the whole world by Phone, Radio, the Internet

and TV it obviously would be no problem for any real god to communicate

directly with his creations.

 

There is an overwhelming multitude of religions and god beliefs.

 

They can't all be true and no real god would permit this massive deception

of his creations.

Below Bill M suggests that there cannot be one God because He would certainly destroy all other competitors. As argument Bill M posted all known gods presently worshipped.

Unfortunately Bill M is wasting a lot of time and energy on this argument. First thing is that he needs to establish his premise that the One God would kill all His competitors.

 

One God means He has no competitors. The One God would certainly know this and would not feel the insecurity and fear of losing his position that Bill imagines He would. This is a silly proposal.

 

Along this line we should remember that demi-gods have achieved their temporary status through a vast accumulation of pious deeds. That position is not eternal. The One God sees them as His parts and parcels just like the microbe or human. They are demigods from our angle of vision only, looking up and being impressed by their powers we feel awe and then worship them. That power however is really Krsna's power on loan to a particular entity as his part in the universal play and can and will be withdrawn at any point. In the Gita Krsna tells us that that worship of the demigods is really meant for Him but it is offered in the wrong way. Demi-god worshipers are simply misguided.

 

Another point is that there is no reason these demigods would not work cooperatively in the service of the One God, with the occasional god trying to challenge the One God until the kind One God puts him in his place as we read in the Bhagavatam. These give us good lessons on the Supremacy of the One God and how He relates to such challenges. Without feeling any need to destroy the small g gods the Lord simply corrects and humbles them in often humerous ways.

 

Also not everyone or thing that people worship as a god is really an appointed and empowered demigod. We have in history the example of King Kong for instance. One gorilla had a pitutary problem and it poured out way way too much gorilla growth hormone(GGH) and it resulted in gorrila giantism, a monkey version of the wrestler Andre the Giant.

 

The human natives not knowing about the pituitary and GGH took him to be a god and feared and worshipped him. They ceremoniously offered the finest nubile young woman they could find and he came and accepted their offering. And he felt "why not", as due to his freakish size he could not get a date on his own why refuse a gift woman from these silly humans.

 

Also many cultures have worshipped the Sun god under differnt names but referring to the same god. Other gods also.

It is not wrong to worship Lord Rama according to Srila Prabhupada.

In fact, he wanted temples of Lord Rama to be built as part of the ISKCON structure.

 

If Lord Rama is the Lord of your heart, then certainly Srila Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON would encourage you to worship Lord Rama.

 

Lord Rama is a form of Lord Krishna who is the origin of Lord Vishnu.

If you worship a demigod, you take yout next birth on the planet of that demigod. After enjoying there for a very long period of time, you again take birth on an earth planet where you again accumulate karma from your actions and go to higher or lower planets after giving up that body.

I don't know what's happening Ayodhya methinks theres some ghost in the forums I didn't post that empty post, don't know how it got there.

 

It's a little difficult with some of the demigods they do administer things like the weather in Indra's case and having a property in Australia with lots of gardens, vegetables etc we need their co-operation for at present we're going thru a very severe drought totally dependent on rainfall as the rest of the world is starting to experience also.

This leads to extreme conditions destoying the fertility and soil balance casing bushfires which threaten our livlihood, bump up the cost of living to buy just about everything, so no doubt Indra or his reps play a role in the environment, and effect just about everyone on the planet.

 

So altho I worship Lord Krsna and try to see that by serving the centre everyone else is served, still i think the roles of the devas have to be respected and appreciated, that is I don't want be on the wrong side of them. Because if they are not appeased they can make it very difficult for every one of us. But still it's not that I give my highest priority, that has to be reserved for the Lord of Lords, the cause of all causes.and we will wait for that to filter down to the devas. Just so long as they don't go on strike for not getting any attention.

The karma kanda rituals of the Vedas do not bring "enlightenment", they bring material rewards like wealth, wife and success in material pursuit.

 

Sure, the Vedas describe many karma kanda rituals and worship of demigods.

 

However, self-realization and liberation from the material existence cannot be attained through worship of any Demigods.

 

You must worship the Supreme Lord Vishnu or Krishna to attain liberation to the Vaikuntha plane or spiritual strata.

 

"Enlightenment" is not the discovery that worshiping demigods brings material rewards.

Enlightenment is to understand the folly of material happiness and to find self satisfaction in service to the Supreme God, the giver of liberation.

 

Aside from that, demigod worship requires expert, genuine brahman priests which are not available in the age of Kali.

 

In essence, most all demigod worship in Kali Yuga is simply a futile endeavor.

Yes this is the standard mimpersonalist viewpoint. I accept the Vaisnava explanation myself. When Krishna says worship Me He is saying worship Me. If He wanted to say the impersonal Brahman within He could have easily said that. No need for you to put words in His mouth. You like the Advaita view that's fine. I adhor it which is my choice. But it's nice to have it clarified. We will never agree on Gita so no use trying to discuss it.

Yes material desires are material desires. But the real idea of approaching Krishna is that you begin to form a relationship. It is a shacky platform however. One may get the object of desire and then forget Krsna or become angry at Krsna for not giving them what they ask for. Some will be fortunate and start to realize that material desires never satisfy and star requesting higher things from the Lord on up to Krsna Preme. We are all beggars but why not beg for the best thing?

The beauty of the Gita is that we can talk about it! Why avoid it completely instead of harboring intellectual debate?

Why would rishi's before the time of Krishna be fallen souls (according to you)?

Were they fallen simply because they did not worship Krishna?

The problem with your viewpoint is your attachment to Krishna, which, is and of itself the wrong way of approaching God. Your retort will no doubt be, "But an attachment to Krishna is better than some other attachment." True, but it is an not an attachment to Krishna that counts, but instead, what he represents (his values, his deeds, etc.). Krishna (the body) died by the way.

You do realize that this is one of the least intellectual statements ever made, don't you? How can any one interpretation be Absolute? How can you, with whatever intellect you have, sit there and claim you are more right than I am?

To think that members of other sects and other religions cannot attain realization without Krishna is silly, don't you think? Are not Krishna's teachings the same everywhere? How do Shiva's teachings differ from Krishna's?

Lord Krishna gives his truth on the practice of demigod worship.

 

 

It is to be concluded, therefore, that those who worship demigods or self-proclaimed incarnations of God are all atheists. They have lost their knowledge, as confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita (7.20): kamais tais tair hrta-jnanah prapadyante 'nya-devatah. "Those whose minds are distorted by material desires surrender unto demigods." Unfortunately, those who do not cultivate Krsna consciousness and do not properly understand the Vedic knowledge accept any rascal to be an incarnation of God, and they are of the opinion that one can become an incarnation simply by worshiping a demigod. This philosophical hodge-podge exists under the name of the Hindu religion, but the Krsna consciousness movement does not approve of it. Indeed, we strongly condemn it. Such worship of demigods and so-called incarnations of God should never be confused with the pure Krsna consciousness movement.

They left out all my fovorite gods. What about PELE. Now theres a goddess for ya, Indra moves when she is active, Bhumi gives in, Agni likes her much, Varuna gets all steamed up.

 

I worship Pele. The demigods are worshippabler, despite what the sentimentalists say. Where does Srila Prabhupada say that we should disrespect demigods or even neglect them, for that matter. His admonishment is that we not accept lesser and deputed gods as the Supreme Lorde, and our info in this regard comes from Narada Muni, who attempted to worship his Father, Lord Brahma, as supreme, but noticed that he, too, was engaging in worship.

 

To disrespect the demigods is DEMON activity, and true Vaisnavas never do such things.
