It is not so long ago the snow leopard didn't exist.  If he does exist, he won't be easy to find or catch.  
They would probably smell man miles away and move deeper into the wilderness.  People look for the lochness monster using power boats that load the water with sonic energy (from engines and sonar) then wonder why they find nothing.  Point is, creatures are generally adapted to knowing the proximity of danger:  Ie: Man.<br/><br/>
