regime maybe fake, but with real teeth
TEHRAN, April 23 (Xinhua) -- An Iranian newspaper on Sunday dismissed alleged Israeli plot to assassinate Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as state terrorism.
"The Zionist regime will never dare to assassinate the Iranian president, its explicit threat will increase Islamic nations' hatred of Israel," the Tehran Times said in an editorial.
Saturday's edition of the Israeli daily Haaretz quoted an Israeli security official as saying that Israeli Mossad intelligence agency is plotting an assassination on Ahmadinejad and the Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haneya.
"The publication of such news in the Israeli media and the clear statements of Zionist officials about assassination were violations of international law, these indicate that Israel is still vigorously pursuing a policy of state terrorism," said the paper.
Tehran Times also urged international community, mainly the United Nations, to immediately condemn the threat of the Zionist regime and to take serious measures against the state-sponsored terrorism.
It also attacked the United States for indulging Israel while accusing Iran of sponsoring terrorists.
"When both the U.S. and its western allies encourage Israel to commit such crimes and to intensify its state-sponsored terrorism, we can not expect to see global terrorism eradicated," the daily stressed.

Jordan king: Israel must disarm nukes
Jordanian King Abdullah said his country is interested in a nuclear-free Middle East and urged the international community to pressure Israel to dismantle its nuclear arsenal.
"If the world is demanding Iran doesn't develop nuclear weapons it should also demand that countries which possess nuclear weapons
disarm," Abdullah said in an interview to Spanish newspaper El Pais. "For peace to be achieved in the region, Israel has to disarm its nuclear weapons
"If there is peace," Abdullah added, "Israel will not need nuclear weapons. If the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is resolved, the Arab-Israeli conflict will also be resolved." The king also stated that Jordan wishes to see the region free from nuclear arms, and that "many states agree on that."
In February, the United States agreed to Egypt's demand to introduce a clause into the U.N.'s decision on nuclear energy stating that the Middle East should be a "nuclear weapons-free region," a decision which completely contradicts Israel's stance on the issue.
Egypt and other Arab states slammed the criticism directed at Iran over its nuclear program, charging that the world was at the same time turning a blind eye to Israel's nuclear project.

Well maybe this creep in Iran aught to shut his own mouth - how much hate and terror plans ooze out of his face?
As noted in my other posting:
He [God] wants us to avert nasty reactions and to do this we at times have to confront ourselves and - at times we have to confront each other - in any case there is going to be confrontations in the metting out of reactive experiances it's all in how we react to these confrontations.
Bad people will most certianly confront others - but never themselves. Bush - the greatest danger facing US
So isn't that the issue with this creep in Iran [and Syria and in too many other places over there] - he wants everyone to ignore his own prejudice and haste to terror programs? Do you deny that he is a loser?
The whole Iranian statement is a sick example of hypocrisy in its best light...

Of course it would be nice to see the weapons destroyed - but - not without a REAL CHANGE in the direction these nations like Iran and Syria are taking.
The King should know these noted leaders - have no more respect for him and Jordan - than they do for Israel and - the west!

Reply:
That's what I used to think.
However - I'm quite certain that that isn't the case - when we hear the leaders of Iran and Hamas - calling for the total annihilation of Israel.
Do we really think that when that conflict is resolved these hate mongers are going to just forget all the deep hate and prejudice they cling to? How shall they?
So of course we need to resolve that conflict but - that may not be the end of conflict.
Even outside their plans of annihilation for Israel - there are plans to spread their version of fanatical Islam - for this program - they will die to kill and - that makes them a clear and present danger. What will they die to kill for? That adds the urgency factor to the issue!
These nations - Iran Iraq Syria [and groups like Hamas and the Taliban] - they are more and more sending out their own 'crusaders' - to slaughter people - again - to eventually bully the world with terror - into a submission to their militant version of Isalm?
