March 07, 2006
The Bhakti Yoga Club, a campus organization designed to encourage the
student community to appreciate and apply spiritual knowledge as
given in the Vedic scriptures, will host a lecture on vegetarianism
today from 6:30-8 p.m. in Room 113 of the Junkins building. Professor
Dalia Abdel-Hady and the Chaplain Rev. Will Finnin will lead the
lecture.
In addition to promoting vegetarianism, the Bhakti Yoga Club holds
weekly meetings involving mantra-yoga, meditation, music and
philosophical discussions. Its basis is the Bhagavad-Gita,
the "timeless source of Vedic wisdom and the essence of all ancient
Indian scriptures," according to the club's Web site.
