Default The Royal Asiatic Society Tour of Ancient Korean Capital

The Royal Asiatic Society is leading a tour of the ancient Shilla
capital of Gyeongju on Nov. 5 and 6.

The tour will take in an array of historical sites around Gyeongju,
which is designated by UNESCO as one of the world's ten most important
ancient cities.

Gyeongju attracts more than 5 million visitors each year and is often
described as a "museum without walls."

Highlights include "Cheomseongdae," or the "star observation tower,"
one of the oldest structures in Korea and the oldest astronomical
observatory in Asia.

Participants will depart Seoul at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and return on
Sunday evening.

For details or to register, visit the society's Internet site at
www.raskb.com.
