KARMA - http://www.nrifilms.com/karma
Karma explores the structures formed by second-generation Asian Indians who
have grown up in the U.S. It shows life - in a different ethnic and cultural
environment - one that is heavily influenced by the American way of life.
The young Asian Indian characters struggle to discover their identities - as
they do not identify themselves as purely Indian, and they can not identify
themselves as purely American. Thus, while they embrace the freedoms of the
West, they still find themselves following the cultural norms of the East.
Please be sure and visit the Karma web site at
www.nrifilms.com/karma for a preview, a
gallery of pictures, bios of cast and crew and a behind the scenes look at
the production process.

Ismaili worth US$9B
Ya Ali Madad,
Azim Premji was the only Ismaili name I could find in Forbes`
latest list of Billionaires. He was listed as worth US$3.6B and
the richest man in India. A few months before HI was on the
cover of Forbes Global, Azim was on the cover with the title
`The Bill Gates of India`.
The story forwarded below is from today morning ... Azim is
now up to US$9B!! Clearly this is an individual achievement,
but if you read between the lines, it`s more than that. The Forbes
article on him from `98 talked about Azim`s ethical principles
and their fabulous success in a place where the common principles
are often `odd` to say the least. One could see this as a
milestone for Ismailis.

BANGALORE, India, Dec 24 (Reuters) - In the mid-1960s, Azim
Hasham Premji quit Stanford University, his degree in
engineering unfinished, and rushed to the aid of his family`s ailing
vegetable oil business following the death of his father.
Thirty-three years later, Premji`s born-again Wipro Ltd -- now better
known for its computer software services -- has topped India`s market
capitalisation chart.
By the end of trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday,
Wipro was worth a cool $12.1 billion.
That toppled long-time leader Hindustan Lever Ltd , the Indian unit of
Unilver Plc (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: ULVR.L), which ended
the day with a market capitalisation of $11.9 billion.
The market`s voracious appetite for infotech stocks has also made Premji
a richer man. The 75 percent stake held by the tech tycoon and his trusts
was worth >about $9 billion when the two-rupee share ended at 2,292.95
rupees ($52.71) on >Thursday.
Wipro extended its gains on Friday despite an overall market decline,
rallying over six percent to a high of 2,440 rupees.
Premji, 53, can now also reclaim the mantle of richest Indian --
