Respected Guru Visti ji,

Namaskaar,

I am looking forward to your guidance regarding mapping of Abhijit

muhurta as this is said to be best time for worshipping Narayan.

How to find abhijit muhurta?

Should we divide the length of local day by 2 and take 30 minutes on

both sides of the local noon time as abhijit muhurta?

e.g. for today (sep21,2006),the details for jalandhar are as such:

sunrise: 06:19

sunset:18:22

length of day=12 hrs 3 min

approx local noon time thus achieved: 6:19+ 6hrs =12:22

tentative time for abhijit muhurta: 11:50 to 12:50.

Or should we take the time when the nakshatra of the lagna rising is

abhijit?

Looking forward to your kind guidance regarding this matter.

Dear Guru Vishtiji,

My understanding is that it is 5 hrs and 36 minutes from the day's sunrise time. Time of Abhijit Muhurtha is 48 minutes. The first 20 minutes and the last 20 minutes are suitable. 8 minutes in the middle is to be avoided.

Please guide if erred.

Regards

Ravi Nair
