Dear Sanjayji and List Members,

I have a bachelors and Masters in Engineering and 5 years of
experience in IT. I lost my job in June 2001. I have been looking
for a job since January 2002 and have n't gotten a job in IT. At
that time I was going through my sade sathi. I had lost my job, my
marriage was in shambles. However with the help of a marriage
counsellor we have been able to make thing s alot better. Now I feel
like I need to go out and teach women what I have learnt, I feel like
working with families to get them back on their feet. In February of
this year I started volunteering for a woman's organisation. I want
to go back to school and get a degree in social work and pursue this
goal. However, I am unsure if this is fleeting or is it my calling.
Can anyone please look at my chart and tell me if I will have the
knack for this kind of work.

Dear Supriti,

Your question is very well explained and, as a student, I shall try
to answer it, hoping that my arguments will give you food for thought.

Jupiter is the planet of counselors and it is precisely the lord of
Lagna and 10th house, so a counselor's job may actually suit you.

Jupiter is joined by its bad enemy Venus, but Venus being a natural
benefic can't hurt too much.

Mercury, Mars and Ketu are in 6th from Lagna, meaning actual work.
Retrograde Mercury as natural karaka for profession shows you may
change it. This is especially true since Mercury is in parivartana
(which means change) with the Sun, the lord of the Varnada Lagna,
also meaning profession.

Mercury and Ketu are both lords of 9th from Lagna. They are
functional benefics. Mars means engineering, Ketu means social work.
On top of being in 6th of actual work, they are conjunct to A10, they
aspect Jupiter, lord of A10, and they give an 11th house house argala
to Jupiter. It seems to me they show the 2 successive professions you
will have.

Mercury aspecting the moon in swamsa may give work akin to medical
care (JUPS 1.2.87). The Sun in Virgo gives discretion and tact and
Venus lord of 3rd gives a peace-loving disposition. AL in 3rd shows
that your outward personality has something to do with communication.

I think the Vimsottari dasa of Moon/Ketu from 2003/07/17 will help
you to realize your ambition.

Dear Martine,

Thank you for your analysis. IT means Information Technology
specifically Software engineering. I have already changed my
profession once. I studied Industrial Engineering and worked as an
Industrial Engineer for 2 years before I changed to Software
Development. However I lost my job in June 2001 and have remained
unemployed ever since. SInce I have already changed my profession
once, does your intepretation mean that I will change once more?

Dear Supriti,

You lost your job in june 2001 during Moon/Saturn Vimsottari dasa.
Debilitated Saturn is lord of 10th from Moon. The natal conjunction
between Saturn and Moon hurts Moon.

In june 2001, Saturn was transiting Taurus, 2nd from Moon. It was
sade-sati period.

Mars cancels the debility of Saturn, so it helps to overcome the evil
effects of Saturn. Saturn keeps some strength as it is in 1st from
Moon and the retrogradation reduces its capacity to do harm.

The Sun having its exaltation where Saturn is placed and being in an
angle from Lagna makes a Neechabhanga Raja Yoga. Moreover, the Sun is
yogada as it is linked to Lagna, HL and GL. Therefore the Sun dasa or
antardasa should give success.

I think a favorable period is ahead, starting with Sun antardasa from
15th october 2005, followed by Mars Mahadasa.

Among the 3 planets in 6th of service, Mars may represent industrial
engineering, Mercury information technology and Ketu social work, so
I think you may change again. Yogada Sun as dispositor of all 3
planets seems to promise success in all cases.
