Default 2-All, re. Relationship between Meditation & Astrology, > Mark Kincaid 11/26 - 11-26-2004, 05:02 AM

Dear Friends:

Here is an interesting question and discussion about the relationship
between meditation or Consciounsess and Astrology/Jyotish.

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid

I thought this might be especially interesting to this/our Jyotish
remedies group, because meditation, itself is one of the greatest...
Vedic Remedies!

somebody's advice to someone else saying astrology should not be used
for trying to solve problems in life - it should only be used for
understanding one's strenghts and weaknesses - and if one may add -
the quirks of time cycles / dasha periods! I find myself agreeing
totally with this viewpoint. Astrology can be a good tool to
understand the self with a small s.

deepen the meaning of life and raise our conciousness.

Dear Vinitar:

I think there is much about recent Astrology, including Jyotish which
has much to improve.

I think in the future, we'll realize that 'good' Jyotish or Astrology
can be used to help us understand really any and all aspects of life.

In some Vedic 'texts' Jyotish is called the 'eye' of the Ved.

This is partly true because within Jyotish can be seen all the other
Vedic Sciences or disciplines.

For example.... mantras are found in the 5th House in Jyotish.
Ayurved are found in the 6th & 8th houses....

God, is found in the 9th & 12th houses,...

Even something like stapatyaved can be looked at through the 4th
House....

So, don't think of Astrology, especially Jyotish as being opposed to
any other important Vedic regimen.

This is one of the reasons why I created this site; to look at the
connection or relationship between Astrology & Consciousness....

Many of the problems, or challenges in our lives; that Astrology
can 'see' in our charts.... can be helped by making recourse to
consciousness 'expansion' techniques.

Meditation, of course, is the most obvious one.

When one practices, 'meditation', because it goes to such a deep
level of our souls, or consciousness, ...all aspects of life, are
nourished, even improved as a result.

When one practices TM or a really good, 'transcendental' kind of
meditation, one's attention spontaneously goes to deeper and deeper
levels of Being or Consciousness.

When this happens, one's mind or thoughts become less.

In that lessening of mental activity, the body follows suit, and also
becomes more quiet.

In that lessening of mental and physical activity, the whole mind and
body experiences a very profound, fundamentally significant, healing
and rejuvenation.

Afterwords, when one comes out of meditation, one's mind is clearer.
The body, is more rested, in fact, full of increased energy.

It's even found that every aspect of Physiology and Psychology are
improved.

The link to Astrology is then, this.

The Planets in our Chart, represent each and every aspect of our
human, individual natures.

The Sun represents our 'I' or 'ego' or self-confidence level.
The Moon represents our 'emotions' or feeling mind, and emotional
intelligence.
Mercury represents our 'intellects'.
Saturn represents our 'balance'.

So, when we evolve, whether it's through meditation, or any other
way, we have the possibility of literally strengening or improving
ourselves...and OUR PLANETS!

This means if we want to improve any of the challenged, or weaker,
or 'malefic' Planets in our chart, theeeee
#1, way to do this is through MEDITATION!

Meditation because it goes, especially to the very heart of
our 'beings', has a spontaneously nourishing effect on both the Sun's
and the Moon's in our charts.

People who 'meditate' report that their self-confidence is
dramatically improved as well as their emotional states.

I've been meditating myself for over 30 years now and I have to say,
all the claims or improvements that you hear about, are true!

What I've noticed, however, especially among those who already
meditate,is.... that those who don't know their Jyotish, are often
found sabotageing themselves even though they may be meditating and
experiencing a lot of benefits....

This is because the 'malefics' in our charts, represent our
confusions, compulsions, addictions and obsessions.

In Vedic terms, these represent our 'pragya parads' or 'mistakes of
intellect', which are where we're personally deluded.

Maharishi, the founder of the TM program has even gone so far to say,
that 'all problems in life, are caused by pragya parads'.

I then, reflected upon that and realized that the 'malefics' in our
Jyotish charts, are good candidates for our pragya parads, or
delussions.

The problems with these malefics, is where we have them, we
spontaneously want to either, 'go too fast', or 'not be patient
enough', which of course, represent malefic Mar's or Saturn's.

And even though someone will be spontaneously growing out of those
problems due to meditation, if.... however, the benefits of
meditation can be supplemented with a keen insight and remedies from
our Jyotish, then,...
we can maximize...ourselves and our growth, evolution!

Hope this helps with your question and experience.

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid
