Default Kala Chakra Dasha-Visti - 06-26-2001, 06:43 AM

Hello Visti,

Your letter caused me to look at my kala chakra dashas and my navamsa as
you mentioned. It's quite amazing how things in my navamsa and rasi
both, with KCD, match my life in odd ways. I've never really looked at
KCD, as I never owned a program that has it. But GJ3 has it, I finished
that some months back, but I still never looked at mine til you
mentioned it.

I have an innate sense of what is "more Vedic" and "less Vedic", having
been utterly devoted to my Gurus of Vedic Spiritual life in the past.
When I got into Jyotish, I zeroed in on KCD as "the one". Just it's name
is SO Vedic and attractive to me, much more so that "120", as the name
of a dasha. All along I thought: "Vimshottari is popular because it's
easy to calculate, and because it matches the lifespan, it's most right
on amongst the easy dashas, but KCD is the real one, somehow better".
This was my feeling, but I didn't know why exactly, but a feeling. I
believe it still to be true, on a inner-sensing basis only, but this is
exciting now for me, to look at more. Very interesting.

I wish I had the time and will to make an outline to show you how it
tracks my life, but not right now. Maybe later. It's pretty compelling.
But in my case, it alot tracks along with my Vimshottari, the Gemini
period matching Jupiter, and the Cancer period matching Saturn's dasha,
and then comes Virgo matching my Mercury dasha. Quite strange in that way.

Thank you for pointing this out to me.

With love, your brother,

Raghu

Dear List
Is there a way to give a brief overview of the Kala Chakra Dasa system, and
how to read it?
thanks
Marcia

Here's an excellent tutorial by Mr. Narasimha Rao on his homepage

Dear Marcia.
The way to understand a Dasa system is through its calculations.

Narayana Dasa is based on the movement of Maha Vishnu through the 12 Sun signs,
and hence Maha Vishnu sets the circumstances of ones life.

Vimshottari Dasa is based on the moons nakshatras, and is hence based on the way
the mind reacts to the impulses given by circumstances.

Now KCD is a hard one.
Its based on the Nakshatra padas(3:20 deg), which actually coincides with the
Navamsas, and thats why its so sensitive, and could give a definite blow to the
discussions on Ayanamsa and Geo/topo centric positions.

Now the Navamsa shows our dharma, so the KCD should give some indications of the
Dharma/Adharma felt in our lives in the various areas.

In Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra, you'll find alot about how to use this Dasa,
but that takes some very strong background knowledge, and indepth understanding.
Narasimha Rao played around with this Dasa in 1998, and made a very long and
interesting article about it.

You can find it at his homepage: http://www.geocities.com/pvr108/
And heres a direct link to his word documents of the same:
http://www.geocities.com/pvr108/kcd_word.htm

Hope this helps.
Best wishes, Visti.

Hi visti
thanks for taking the time to spell that out.
I spent a couple hours at Mr. Rao's website devoted to expounding the
subject, it was very informative.
I personally didnt find it as exact in terms of events in my own chart, but
there may be much i am missing.
Definitely worth spending more time on though.
Take care
marcia

Helo Marcia,

Kal Chakra Dasha is the King of dashas but is entirely dependant on birth
times correct to even a second. Therefore it should be used only in cases
where you know that the birth time is correct to even a second. And this is
so difficult these days when the births take place in hospitals.

Manoj

Hello everyone,

Kalachakra Dasa is to be used when the Moon's Navamsa lord is strong

( Kalachakra Dasgneyam Chandramsese Balanvite - Mantreswara's
Phaladeepika ).

Udu Dasa can be used at all times. ( Sada Nakshatra Margena Dasa Balavathi
Smrithah )
