Ture as all Gurus are respectable... and when God and Guru fixed some rules for us then we must follow them. It is upto the person now, devotee only follow his interest rules otherwise he has his logics.

Why dont you eat non veg? onion and garlic? or drink hard drinks? why to follow any rule? just use each and every prohibited stuff and do bhakti. right?

WHAT IS PROHIBITION FOR YOU AND I MAYNOT BE PROHIBITION FOR ANOTHER RELIGION, THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT ONE PATH IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER....IT ALSO DOES NOT MEAN THAT BY EATING, SLEEPING AND WEARING ONE WAY WE WILL ATTAIN GOD AND A MUSLIM OR A CHRISTIAN WILL NOT...IT IS WHAT U FOLLOW IN LIFE THA IS IMPORTANT...WHY DONT WE EAT MEAT...WELL IT IS DUE TO THE VIBRATIONS OF THE ANIMAL WHO WE ARE KILLING THAT WILL PASS ON TO US...ALSO WE DO NOT WANT TO GIVE PAIN TO ANOTHER BEING...BUT WHAT IF WE DONT EAT MEAT BUT MISTREAT THAT SERVANT WHO WORKS FOR US...OR GIVE LEFT OVERS TO THE MAID WHO COMES TO WORK AT HOME...OR LOOK AT ANOTHER PERSON WITH NEGATIVE THOUGHTS....IT IS NOT WHAT THIS BODY DOES BUT EVEN THE THOUGHTS THAT WE CREATE IN OUR MINDS THAT IS AS IMPORTANT...I HAVE SEEN AND MET MANY PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT RELIGIONS WHO EAT MEAT, DRINK AND INDULGE IN WHAT WE ARE PROHIBITED....SOME OF THEM ARE BETTER THAN US AS THEY MIGHT INDULGE IN THESE BUT THEIR THOUGHTS ARE PURE...THEY MENA NO HARM TO NAYONE...NOT EVEN WITH THEIR THOUGHTS....NOW THIS IS NOT TO SAY THAT WHAT U R SAYING IS WRONG...BUT TO SAY THAT IF WE FOLLOW THE FOOD, CLOTHES, COLOURS AND OTHER PROCESSES THAT WE WILL FIND GOD AND THE ONE WHO DOES NOT FOLLOW WILL NOT....THAT MY FRIEND IS NOT RIGHT....IT IS NOT ONLY WHAT THIS BODY DOES BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY THE THOUGHTS THAT GO THROUGH IT THAT MATTERS MOST........

I didnt comment on meditation or bhakti to reach God. I agree with your point. Our Hindu scripture says when you go on the altar for Worship then dont wear that color cloth. As this thread is under hindu forum and we are talking about Gayatri Mantra and ISKCON, I didnt mention anything else.

I again agree with your point but How anyones thoughts are pure when He is eating meat and killing living entity?
I again repeat, We know each and every rules but we follow those which our mind fix.

FIRST THIS IS A VERY GOOD DISCUSSION ,SO PLEASE DO NOT FEEL OTHERWISE. I THINK WE BOTH AGREE ON MOST POINTS EXCEPT THAT I DO NOT BELIEVE IN RIGIDITY OF PROCESSES...HOW CAN I ATTAIN GOD WHO IS BEYOND A PROCESS WITH SUCH RIGIDITY....WE HAVE TO BE OPEN TO EXPERIENCE HIM IN ALL WAYS AND FORMS....AND OPENESS MEANS OPENESS IN THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS...NOW THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE DO WHAT WE WANT TO BUT WHAT IT MEANS IS THE ABILITY TO DISTNGUISH RIGHT FROM WRONG, GOOD FROM BAD AND FOLLOW THE INNER VOICE THAT GUIDES US...ALSO REMEMBER THAT GOD IS WITHIN US ALL AS WE ARE EXTENSIONS OF GOD HIMSELF....ON THE PEOPLE WHO EAT MEAT I WILL BE HONEST WITH YOU, I USED TO EAT MEAT AND HAVE NOT EATEN MEAT NOW FOR 10 YEARS, I LIVE IN EUROPE AND FIND IT VERY DIFFICULT TO GO OUT AS THERE ARE VERY FEW GOOD VEGETARIAN RESTURANTS. Well, As I have been taught by my guru and Scriptures I follows those. You can get the education at home also but why shuld to go to school? Why should to follow school's rules? we can get education without rules. right? Actually every rule is benificial. To believe on God is something. But every religion has their own rules. Why? Cause their Gods has made them. Dont lie... Help others... etc rules are also written. But these are basic rules. In hindu scriptures, Veds reveals so many pujas and their rules... you know why??? because by them we can reach GOD. Is there any example of any living entity who got to see God after not following religion's rules? NO. To be genunie with principles is one thing and To do worship to reach God is some thing different.

In srimad bhagwatam only 9 types of lie is free but only once in a life. And usually I dont lie. in fact in srimad Bhagwatam Lord Ved Vyas said God is Satya, and it is our Religion. by that he wanted to give us a message to follow Truth.

Well, In hinduism every thing has a logic. I have no idea why Scriptures said no. I will ask to Respected Gurudev and get back to you. hows that?

Shame on all of you that are knoking down westerners and there Gayatri practizes...
Personally the gayatri was given to me while I was asleep living in seclusion.I woke up and started chanting this mantra without knowing what it meant. I still dont truly know what the true beautifull meaning is and I hope one day I will know..
But what a waste of your time and this space is on talking on this. I have the same blood and exactly the same particles you people have..Reach deep whitin and see that we all belong.

Dear Traveller,

You are absolutely right. Gayatry and Veda can be chanted and studied by by any one as it is universal. It does not belongs to any one perticular. In fact veda teaches non -parochialism and equality of all beings.

However in in India, at one time a priestly class arose and monopolised the knowledge and institutionalised rules to their own advantage. Cast system came in to being and lower cast and women were banned from studying Veda. It is restricted to only Bhramin male. Sinse then any one who is not a bhramin male is not initiated with veda or gayatri. Ignoioring the fact that many rishis who wrote the vedis verses were the socalled 'lower' cast and women. This is all a professional con and nothing else.

Though it is very irritating, you need not bother about this ignorance of Hindus. Gayatri is a universal and holy mantra. It belongs to every one.
