I was told by my friend who belongs to kancheepuram that Varadharaja Perumal
is to undergo puNarutthAranam from sep 10th '04. So all moolavar sannadhis
will be closed for about 2 years. Though pAlalayam can be seen, but those
who wish to see Moolavar at the original sanctum sanctorum, please rush to
have darshan before 10th.

The ceremony sanctioned by AagamAs
to transfer the sakthi and presence of
the Lord into an appropriate vessel
while some needed work inside
the garbhagraham is done is
known as "BaalAlayam " . PaalAlayam
means some thing quite different .

Once the necessary repairs are completed ,
the sakthi of the Lord is reinvoked into
the Moolavar through MahA SamprOkshaNam .
