Default Are We Poor ? - 12-27-2005, 11:47 PM

SRI :

Hare Krishna.

Dears Bhagavathas,

Our praNAms / Good Wishes to you all.

Many of us at sometime or other feel / lament / get depressed saying " We are
poor" .

Is it true ? Those who have surrendered to the Lord of The Universe ,
Lokeswara and Yogeswara - Lord Sri Krishna, indeed are Very Very Rich compared
to any one in this world.

For a Devotee of The Lord, the mind gradually gets prepeared to treat gold and
sand at same value. The Devotee will not get lured by any material wealth. For
him worship of the Lord is the only valuable wealth he has to earn in this
world. It is the level of internal sense of satisfaction , that makes one rich.

The Devotee remebers The Lord's Assurance -

" ananyAs chinthayantho mAm ye janAh paryupAsathAE
thAEshAm nithyAbiyukthAnAm yogakshemam vahAmayaham "

The Lord has assured that He will look after the needs of His Devotees.

That "the true wealth is not the possession of material belongings", is a very
valuable knowledge which we should learn , understand and adapt in our every day
life. This will make us understand that we are truly billionaires, as we are
Devotees of The Yogeswara.

No material wealth can make anyone happy at all times. The possessions bring
miseries also as a consequence of its possession. We should aim to enjoy the
state of Bliss by getting closer to Lord Sri Krishna.Once we taste this , our
longing for the worldly wealth will disappear.

A true Yogi is one who treats money and mud as of same value. It is indeed a
great process of learning to make our mind accept this truth .

The fact that our Lord Himself is the greatest of wealth to us has been
brought out in the following sloka by Sri VedAntha Desika :

naasthi pithrArjitham kinchith
na mayaa kinchithaarjitham
asthi mE Hasthi-sailAgrE
vasthu paithAmaham dhanam
Meaning
I do not have any accumulated wealth that has been left behind by my father. I
have nor assembled any wealth from my efforts. I have however one of the
greatest of wealth in the world that has been left behind by my grand seer (
Brahma Devan) , who gained it through the performance of the Ashwamedha Yagam at
Elephant hill (Hastha Giri at Kanchipuram). When I have this imperishable
wealth , where is the need for other kinds of wealth for me ?

Let us pray our Lord Krishna to gain this knowledge of renouncing things while
discharging our duties without expectation of any fruits for our action.

Our Greetings for A HAPPY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR to all the Bhagavathas and
their families.

Hare Krishna

Adiyen

Kombur Vankipuram Madhavan.

WE PRAY THE LORD TO BLESS ALL TO LOVE AND HELP ALL.
