Dear Raama BhakthAs :

Back in 1989 , adiyEn wrote one essay on each of the Five
Ghana Raaga Pancharathnams set in Naattai , GhouLai , Aarabhi ,
VarALi and Sri Raagams .The purpose was for the Musicians
and Musicologists to enjoy the krithis with additional knowledge
of the meaning of the divine Saahithyams .

During 1990 , thse essays were released in a book format with
forewords from HH Kaanchi SankarachArya of Kaama Koti PeeDam ,
Sangeetha Kalanidhis (Late ) Semmangudi SrinivAsa Iyer and
K.V.Narayanaswamy , Composer Dr.Svarna VenkatEsa Dikshithar
of Chidambharam .

The annotated commentary came to 336 Pages and contains
many references to Raama Bhakthi of Saint ThyagarAja , AzhwArs
and quotations from VedAs relating to SaraNAthy Tatthvam .

These five essays are in Tamil with extensive quotations in Sanskrit
and English . The essays discuss Raaga LakshaNams , bhakthi-laden
Padha prayOgams found in these magnificent Krithis .

We made 1000 copies of the book and only one is left with me now ,
here in New York . Back in India , My sister may have a copy or two .
As the BaguLa Panchami day approaches and the Annual AarAdhanam
festival takes place

I am thinking of scanning the original book ( 336 pages of tem all )
and place it as a scanned document for world wide availability .

I will be happy to lend this Library copy to a Volunteer , who may
wish to take part in the scanning of these pages and create
the digital document .

Are there any volunteers ? Please contact me if interested
to join in this Kaimkaryam to the Carnatic Music world ?
