As a Moderator of the Oppiliappan Group and as one born
in Oppiliappam ThiruvadivAram ( at the sacred feet of the Lord
in His Sannidhi Street ) , I wish to brief you on a Kaimakryam
Opportunity at Oppiliappan Koil Dhivya desam on Monthly
SravaNam days .

On this day , PerumAL (Moolavar ) adorns Nila Maalais
( the flower garlands that reach from the top of His crown
(Nedu Mudi) to Thiruvadi ( Sacred feet ) . Uthsavar Ponnappan
adorns RathnAngi for displaying their dhivya Soundharyam .

Arrangements are being made for Uthsavar BhUmi Devi
to adorn Her MaNNikka KoNdai , Jata Kothsu , KiLi and
other aabharaNams presented to Her few years back .

The Swamy who performs the SravaNa Dheepa Kaimkaryam
resides in Srirangam and comes every SravaNam from
there to carry the burning dheepam , which represents
the Lord in His self-luminous form . BhakthAs who have
many samsAric worries approach the SravaNa dheepam
Swamy and ask for the blessings of the Lord to address
their problems and recieve SrI Oppiliappan's rsponses .
The AnupravEsam ( entry in to the mind and body
of SravaNa Dheepam Swamy ) by Oppiliappan during the occasion
of his carrying the Lord in the form of dheepam and more direct
access to Oppiliappan during this occasion on SravaNam days
is well recorded .

There is a huge throng of devout visitors to the Temple on SravaNam
days and many of them come from far distances . The queue to get in to
the temple stretches far . The utter devotion of BhakthAs trying to
witness this JyOthirmaya Dheepam is to be seen to be believed .

PRASAADHAM DISTRIBUTION ON SRAVANAM DAY

Those who are not on SravaNa UpavAsam are given special
PerumAL PrasAdham on this day ( PuLiyOdharai, Sarkkarai
Pongal and Curd Rice ) . Approximatelty 1,500 BhakthAs
participate in this TadhiyArAdhanam and the number is increasing
every SravaNam .

The SravaNa dheepam Swamy has been struggling to collect funds
to maintain this TadhiyArAdhana Kaimkaryam by Himself . Most recently,
SrIman (SravaNam) Sampath RengarAjan of Ann Arbor , Michigan
and myself thought it will be a good idea to create an opportunity for
all the Oppiliappan BhakthAs to support this SravaNa TadhiyArAdhana
Kaimkaryam .

The amount involved is $200 per month and we are looking in to
a way for that amount to be sent as a Tax free gift by facilitating transfer
of this modest amount of $2,400 per year by a Foundation here to
a religious charity based in Oppiliappan Koil or Chennai.

A minimum of $10 per month by 20 BhakthAs would be sufficent
to keep this Anna Dhaana Kaimkaryam going on SravaNam ( VishNu
Nakshathram ) days . Some may prefer to send more than $10
to reach quickly the annual budget of $2,400 for the entire year .
The donations can be linked to important family events like
Birthdays , 60th anniversaries , Marriages , Upanayanam et al.

SrIman SravaNam SrI Sampath Rengarajan to write an article for the lists on
