Netravidyalaya Junior College is celebrating II Annual Day Celebrations at

Sriramnagar, Samshabad Hyderabad on 31st Aug 09. We cordially invite you all to

participate in this event along with your like minded friends and relatives and

encourage these Students. 

 

As this is the first college to give 10+2 standard education (Intermediate) on

laptops to the Blind where students will also appear to the examination using

laptops along with regular students, avoiding any helper/scribe Education,

Hostel, Clothing etc are provided free to all the students. For the first time

in India, also in the world, Blind students have attempted with the help of

modern technology trying to avoid dependency on SCRIBE, using laptops.   Board

gave permission atlast, after taking many things into consideration and

conducting a study. However students came out successful in the 10+1 exams

conducted during Mar 2008 and also in 10+2 gr exams conducted during Mar 2009.

The first batch completed Intermediate successfully.

 

Commemorating this event, a felicitation function was conducted to the students.

Infact, this happened for the first time in the WORLD. Recognising their

Computer skills and this examination performance, a Special Certificate was also

given to each student. HH Sri Swamiji presented a BRAILLE WATCH to all the

students along with the Board certificates and the Special Certificate. 

 

When these students appear for their degree course, Universities have to

consider giving them permission to appear for their final exams on laptops

rather than with helpers. The college is run only with the generous support of

individual philanthropists and the inspirers.

of the students,with JAWS, a screen reader package.

 

2) Board Examination on Laptops for the first time in the History of the blind

students.

(No help of scribes except for language Exam)Achievement:

This year 2009 scoring.

60%____70% Marks by 12 Students

50%____ 60% by 06 Students

40% ____50% by 07 Students

 

Only one student left behind not appearing the Ist year paper

Smt Dr. Vinatha: " I did not find words to express my happiness to get an

opportunity to volunteer such a programme. Inspired by Swamiji's activites, I

started VT SEVA in USA. With four objectives viz.

1) Taking up literacy programmes in tribal areas.

2) Establishing schools for the blind and give them life, and pride. 3) Cancer

awareness programme for women (early detection and treatment)

4) Save environment and protect nature for generations to come.

 

Iam ready to work anywhere in the world and I became passionate with Swamiji's

work for humble causes " .

 

Sriman Chandraiah: " The students appearing with Laptops for Board examinations

is unique in its nature, and deserves to be entered in the Guinnes Book of World

Records. Introducing the system of taking examinations with the help of Laptops

itself is great. I have seen many institutions in my 35 years life but I never

saw such an institution, students taking examinations on Laptops without the

help of scribes. I feel proud of being an instrument for this " . Sriman Laxmiaih:

" I appereciate the service activities like establishing schools in tribal areas.

Students are lucky to study in this college. Swamiji’s ambitions should be

fulfilled by following swamiji’s ideals in our life " ,advised students.

Principal Report: " I Congratulate the students for their good performance. I

requested the Board of Intermediate Education authorities to exempt this

Institution from the payment of Recognition and Affiliation fee and I also

requested the authorities to issue permanent orders to write Public examinations

with the help of Lap-top computers, instead of renewing permission every time.

Also I request to give the students half an hour ‘extra time’ in exams as it

takes considerable to listen what they typed, while computer reads back the

typed matter, as they keep typing the answers. " .

 

President of College committee: Congratulated the students. Secretary (JET):

Appreciated the students that they have learnt to live a systematic life and

developed self confidence. Secretary Intermediate Board conveyed Congratulations

to the students over phone to the Principal and wished them all the success.

Students Spoke: " On behalf of all the students we express our gratitude to HH

Sri Chinnajeeyar Swamiji for creating good facilities, the best food and the

arrangements for the academic activities as well as cultural activities.We are

really benefited by using Lap-tops as we are able to go on our own with the

latest developments in the world " .Two students Mr. Akhil and Bharani from New

Jersy USA came and stayed here from 28 july to 9 Observation by the volunteers

from VT SEVA. USA.

 

" I love how this type of free education is available to these students ! I

enjoy volunteering here, for, the students here actually want to learn more

about the world and they are well informed in whatever subjects they are

currently studying. After we took a class we felt excited because the students

understood what we were saying. They wrote 3-4 pages of notes and we got a first

hand experience of what it means to teach these students . Teachers are so good

and doing wonderful job ! Computer is a boon for these

students " .Prof.Purushothama Rao: " It is a particular project unique in nature in

the world. Iam congratulating the students for their fantastic performance and I

hope all the students should pursue higher studies and also suggested the

students that if they study under Osmania University permission to allow them

for Degree Exams also on laptops may be requested and University may consider

such proposal too. I am ready to give gold and silver medals to the toppers of

this college from next year onwards " . thAugust, voluntered their services to the

blind students. Their observations are: after giving away special certificates

to the students, announced that from the next year onwards, admissions into this

College will be opend to the blind from across the country. HH suggested that

the Government as well as corporates should come forward to support such

institutions to provide basic facilities and better services to deprived &

deserving students. Sri Swamiji observed that these students are not the real

blind but those who having eyes and neglected helping such deserved ones. H.H.

offered Mangalasasanams to one and all for their good support and co-operation

in serving a great social cause.

 

Conclusion : A World Record accomplishment by these Blind students with great

efforts of the Institution and encouragement of the supporters is highly

appreciated by one and all. The programme began with Peace Prayer at 11A.M and

ended at 1P.M with vote of thanks.

providing the best facilities to these students to succeed in life. We

congratulate all the students for their courage to learn English, learn to use

the computers and then study the subjects. They made Sri Swamiji proud. That

the teachers and staff who have nurtured these students for success. This

school has established a standard for others to follow.
