Can anyone tell me this recipe of Nrsimha drink with ginger and lemon !? and how to prepare it ?
I'm reciting Nrsihma Kavaca everyday and i'd like to worship a picture and offer this drink. By the way is there a special mantra to offer smthing to Nrsimha Deva ?

We are currently reduced to a skeleton staff due to the overpowering influences of the age of Kali. Hopefully you will understand and post the recipe here when you find it.

Default panakam - 03-28-2004, 03:21 AM

Hare Krishna. The drink is known as Panakam and is prepared by mixing jaggery (gur), water, ginger, elachi powder, and lemon. I don't know the exact proportions off hand, but you can experiment and figure it out pretty easily.

From http://www.chennaionline.com/food/re...ramanavami.asp

Panakam

Jaggery (Powdered) - 1 Cup.
Water - 3 Cups
Lemon - 2 Nos.
Dried ginger (Powdered) - 1 ½ Tsp.
Cardamom (Crushed) - 2 Nos.
Pepper & Salt (Crushed) - ½ Tsp.

Procedure

Mix the jaggery in water and dissolve it well. Filter the ingredients in a cloth. Add lemon juice, dried ginger powder, Cardamom, Pepper and Salt. Mix this well. Serve chilled. This can be served as a welcome drink to quench the thirst and cool the system in the hot summer months.
