DeviMahatmyam or Saptasati is a part of Markanteya Puranam and Devi as
incarnation of Durga,Lakshmi and Saraswati kills the Rakhasas in
fierce battle.
Bhalasruti says that a king who lost his kingdom regained it after
reading Saptasati.
I shall narrate an incident thar happened recently.It was in Edapally
near Ernakulam (Kerala,India) .A man with high Diabetic count swooned
and doctors said that situation is critical.He was taken to a hospital.
His relatives consulted an astrloger.He suggested parayanm(reading) and
homam of DeviMahtmyam for seven days.
The patient who was totally unconcious started moving his hands and
legs after the first days parayanam.Second day he could lie on his
side.Third day he opened his eyes.Day by day there was improvement in
his condtion.
By sixth days parayam, he was almost normal.On seventh day he was
discharged from hospital.
