Default two phrases - 11-16-2008, 10:01 PM

hello everyone

i have two Sanskrit phrases where i needed some help for the meaning in english. i will write them in english sorry about any misspellings but i am going by how it sounds.

1. aum padmavatya raksham kuru kuru swaha
2. aum rim bhagwatya padmavatya manovanchit saravakraya siddhim kuru kuru swaha.

i wanted to know the root meaning of the letters if not a general defination would be helpful too.
learning sanskrit in america is hard when your parents don't know it either..

aum is a bija syllable which is definitionless apart from that it exists to act as a seed sound vibration.

padmavati is Laxmi Devi, the capable one of the lotus

raksham is protection

kuru is the verb "do"

swaha is a declaration of offering

rim is a bija "seed" sound

Bhagwati is Laxmi -- Fortunate one
