First tests of new video section
As we mentioned earlier, we will shortly be launching a video section with hundreds of videos related to India, yoga, spirituality, etc.
The following is the first pre-test of the video section. One of the audarya members has sent in a pair of video lecturess given by Siddhaswarupananda. For years he has been posting write ups in the forum of the weekly broadcast of Siddhaswarupananda's TV program. Now he has offered to send us video recordings so that anyone can watch the program regardless of where they are located. These two episodes will be our first test of the video section, and if it works we will be adding hundreds of other videos.
Lecture One by Siddhaswarupananda
Lecture Two by Siddhaswarupananda
Please give us feedback and suggestions (either by PM or post it here). If anyone else has video they would like to submit, please send me a PM.

The video file is not opening in firefox. Could be because im on slow internet connection (dial up). Could it be possible to have low resolution streaming video file (For dial up users)?
It would be very nice if we can also get video lectures from Sri Atmatattva Das. His audio lectures are absolute beauty.
Thanks

I just tested it in Firefox and it is working. I think it is due to the dialup connection. These are recorded at 260 kbps, so you would probably need a cable or DSL connection to view them streaming.
I can also make dial up versions, but screen size and quality go down to make them downloadable on slower connections.

Exactly the same thing here.
Nevertheless, I think its a very veryyy important thing to have video streaming as part of learning about GOD/Krishna . Its simply lovely to watch and it gives a sense of personal contact with the one who is giving the lectures. Personally I think that would bring even more people to Krishna.
GO FOR IT GO !!!
Dont forget video file from Sri Atmatattva Das (if you have any/ in low resolution if possible for dial up users)

dear jndasa,
I am very much looking forward to this video service you are setting up.
I wish to express my gratitude, thank you.
I have just finished watching the first video installment by Siddhaswarupananda and it was really very nice to see the video end with the chanting of Nitai-Gaura's Holy Names.
Currently I am able to stream at this 260kps speed. But it would be so nice to see these video's available for a slower internet connection also, so all may have access to this wonderful service and benefit from it.

These look great, and they take me back to earlier, simpler days. I heard a recent lecture of Siddhasvarupananda's last year, and, although the years show up on his face, his voice is as clear and youthful as when I had the pleasure of his company.
Full steam ahead!

Very impressive. Worked first time in Firefox 1.0.7 and Explorer 6.02 over a high speed connection.
Hopefully Gauracandra may be able to supply some more video of Siddhaswarupananda's unique preaching approach. It was very enjoyable.

Yes, he is very in tune with where his audience is and has a very rare way of bringing the profound truth out in a way that is clear and acceptable. He is speaking to we souls who have forgotten God and trying to help us reconnect.
Doesn't everyone do that? No. Many of us talk to hear ourselves speak or to try and impress others with our learning. I have heard many of his taped lectures and have never gotten that kind of vibe from him. That sincerity and clear intent comes through and is powerful.
These are produced for the public television audience

Hey quick question - can you tell us what reputation points are and how they work - if someone approves of a posting that gives a point - and if they don't it takes one away? Is that how it works?
