Default Kundalini - what is it? Is it a spiritual phenomenon?

According to Philip Gardiner, kundalini is entirely a mind-based phenomenon, and that it is very dangerous. It also, according to him, only bestows the "sense" of enlightenment but not enlightenment in actuality. He considers kundalini of the current understanding by the general public to be very different from the concept of kundalini in the original texts.

You can read his ideas on kundalini here: http://www.book-of-thoth.com/blogs/p...xperience.html

Any thoughts on this?

He doesn't seem to go into what the difference is between the actual conception of kundalini and the public's conception of kundalini, nor why he thinks its mind-based and nothing spiritual about it. Yet, he also goes on to say it can be a way to freedom.

You don't choose Kundalini, Kundalini chooses you!!!

Dear Harerama,

Stop reading anything like that if you are really eager to awake the Kundalini, in stead you gotta find out a real Guru. Many people write books reading the real ones and establish themselves the Kundalini expert in the eyes of innocent aspirants and misguide people.

But to some extent, the writer is right...it's a kidna mind phenomena...sometiems people think their Kundalini is being awakened but the fact is, only the Pranic force tries to brust out...

It is easier to read and follow so all the people go for it rather try the real Guru. The real Guru gets us burnt...n it is tough...there's a saying... Water in the vessel, vessel in the water, vessel breaks...water everywehre. The real Guru( sadguru) makes us same his/herself. Before making the gold ring the godlsmith heats it, hammers it and with lotta sweats..he makes the ring.
Process of a living Guru is same, and it's makes us scared to go for him/her and read and try, try for nothing high.

I'm just a tiny particle...and we all are...
