Default Advise for High Heart Rate and Low Blood Pressure

Sat Nam everyone!

I am new to the group, a KY teacher in Paris France. I have a new
student starting in my class this Tuesday and he has very recently
had some problems with his health. He is on leave from work ( a
trainee lawyer, very high stress job) due to having collapsed a week
ago. His doctor said that his heart rate was too high and his blood
pressure too low, he also lost about 10 pounds in 10 days. My
student realizes that this is due to stress and pressure at work,
working ridiculously long hours etc. and is thus trying to take steps
to help himself.

I have already suggested some breathing exercises to do, especially
left nostril and alternate nostril breathing. He has regained a lot
of his strength due to resting, but obviously still needs to be
careful.

I had planned to teach the 'Kriya for Disease Resistance'
from 'Keeping up with Kundalini Yoga', but this Kriya has bear grip
at the heart center, whist holding the breath, and I worry this might
put to much stress on his heart. I realize that he should take all
the excercises easy, but would like to know if anyone could recommend
some advice and a suitable kriya that is fairly easy going.

thank-you for any suggestions... Sat Nam!

If it is possible, I would recommend that you give this person a private
session before he takes a class, especially if he has not taken a class
before. New students often feel that they must keep up with others in the
class despite warnings to the contrary. It will give both of you the chance
to know his current limitations. Also he might want aanother week of rest
before starting or an ok from his dr.
