Hi Ellen,

I had to stop doing my routine late at night because I was waking up
at 2am and feeling like running a few miles. Maybee I should wake my
wife up and put the energy to good use---if it wasn't for that "work-
at-6am-thing", she might just be up to it;-) Seriously, I don't know,
perhaps try the "Salute to the Moon".

You can, but you don't have to. If you do a yoga set before meditation, make
sure it is one that is specifically designed to help you wind down and go to
sleep, and not one of the early morning ones (Mal is right, if you do one of
those you will barely be able to sleep!). Warm-ups aren't really necessary
since these are gentler, slower exercises.

Exercises usually included in evening sets are forward stretches with long
deep breathing (no breath of fire at night generally), bridge pose also with
long deep breathing, breathing techniques (one such anti-stress breath is:
inhale in 8 short steps through the nose and exhale in 8 steps through the
rounded lips), alternate leg lifts and some others. Basically any KY book
will have at least one before-bed set that you can do.

Many blessings,
Satsang Kaur

Sat Nam

I asked my teacher the same question - and her reply was : You should warm
up, but you don't have to do a set...

Gururattan's books provide a handy section called "Meditation
Facilitators". These are single exercises (you can do as many as you
want, of course) which are perfect for this. They are specifically
provided for circumstances when you may not have a lot of time, or
don't want the effects of a more energetic kriya, and these prepare
you for some sitting and meditating.

Love & blessings,
Sadhant
