The sacrifice of knowledge (Jnana Yoga) is superior to

LESSONS FROM BHAGAVAD GITA – 41
As taught by Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji
“The sacrifice of knowledge (Jnana Yoga) is superior
to sacrifices performed with material objects. All
actions, O Arjuna, in their entirety, culminate in
knowledge.”
Sacrifice of knowledge is greater than other types of
sacrifices. The people who perform Jnana yajnas in
the form of conducting spiritual discourses or
participating in them gain more merits than those who
give away cows, wealth, land money and other objects
to the poor and the needy.
Sacrifices of material objects are noble as
sacrifices, yet, as compared with the sacrifices
rooted in knowledge, they pale into insignificance, as
the sacrifice of knowledge directly leads to the
Supreme Bliss. But before acquiring the fitness for
performing Jnana yoga or the discipline of knowledge,
one has to carry on the performance of sacrifices with
material objects.
