'I' Am of the form of Sachchidananda
Jaya Guru Datta,
Here is today's saying:
Bhajan 1
Koham koham kohamaho
kastvam kimidam kim tadaho
Drashtaivaaham drishyo deho
matto bhinnah kudyamiva
Bhaataa chaaham bhaasyo deho
matto bhinnah kalasha iva 1
Kaashthaagnee tou miltou yadyapi
daahaka vahnirna hi kaashtham
Soham deho milito yadyapi
noonam dehaat prithagasmi 2
Nidra vivashe dehe satyapi
yadvaa vigata praana kale
Na prativachanam sa hi sandatte
tasmaat scahidaanandosmi 3
Who am I? Who am I? Who am I?
Who are you? What is this?
I am the 'seer'. The body is the 'seen'. Just as the wall (that is 'seen'),
the body is different from 'I'. I am effulgent. The body is that which is
'illuminated' by me. Therefore, the body is different from me just as the pot
(which is illuminated) is different from light.
Although fire and wood seem to be one, the fire that burns the wood is different
from the wood itself. Similarly, although the body and 'I' seem to exist
together, 'I' am different from the body.
When the body is resting in the deep sleep state or when the life departs from
the body, the body ceases to respond. Therefore, 'I' am of the form of
sachchidananda.
