“ . . . when it comes to spiritual learning, the interest exhibited by the
student when he faces hardship in his pursuit itself is said to be Guru
Dakshina (offering of fees to the Guru.)(So opine the scriptures.) That is,
the attitude of the student not to lose heart when faced with difficulties
in his spiritual pursuit is Guru Dakshina.“
