Default What is significance of small Deities with the big Deities?

Hare Krsna.

I was just looking through the photos of some Deities around the world and I
noticed that some do not have small Deities but just big Deities, whereas
other altars had big and small Deities. What's the purpose or significance of
the small Deities if the big Deities are already present to accept our
offerings?

Sincerely,

Virender

hare krishna
the small deities are called utsav vigraha and are movable, ie the may be worshipped on behalf of the big deities and put on jhulan, taken on boat ride etc. The big deities may not be moved. It is not possible in most cases to bathe the large deities therefore the small deities are bathe every morning.
