more editions of Bhagavad-gita
Pradyumna: Prabhupada always considered that four books----the
Bhagavad-gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, The Nectar of Devotion, and Sri
Caitanya-caritamrita ----were the necessary books. Outside of that,
everything was extra. Once we were in Prabhupada's room in New York when
Radhaballabha asked Prabhupada, “So, after you finish the Bhagavatam,
Prabhupada, what books would like to translate?” Prabhupada said, “Oh, maybe
Jiva Goswami's Sat Sandharbha, or Vedanta-Sutra or Bhagavad-gita. There're
so many.” Someone spoke up, “But Prabhupada, you already did the
Bhagavad-gita.” Prabhupada said, “There are so many commentaries. We did a
small part.” He said, “Ramanujacharya, Madhvacharya, everyone has given a
Gita commentary. We could do many Gitas, not just one.” So he had a
conception like that.
