on chanting other Holy names

Dear respected Gurumaharaja Srila Jayapataka Maharaja.
Pamro. AGTYH. AGTSP.
I preach sometimes to the people in West which are somehow averse of the
Hari Krsna Mahamantra, since they heard some untrue rummours about ISKCON.
Or they know about it and also doesnt want to chant since they don't want to
get brainwashed. I have seen that to this averse people, one can tell to
chant some other names of Lord Krsna, Gauranga which they don't know. Or of
other incarnations like Nrsimha...
I tell them they will get some benefit or protection, but I don't give them to
much of the
philosophy. Hoping that they will purify themself by chanting and than later
one may preach to them to surrender to Lord Krsna and Srila Prabhupada under
the guidance of ISKCON devotees and chant the sublime Hare Krsna Mahamantra.
Is this proper way of preaching dear Srila Gurudeva, or I am again
speculating something?
