Default Hrmpf…. English!

Hrmpf…. English!

Why is there one O in lose but two in choose?
Why are you, true, too, do, new rhyming yet spelled entirely different?
Why is the plural of tooth; teeth, but not booth; beeth?
If a teacher taught why didn’t a preacher praught?
Why does slim chance and fat chance mean the same while wise man and wise guy mean the opposite? Why does one ship by a truck and send cargo via a ship?
Or if they’re spoiled they’re also rotten?
When teaching prepositions I’ll teach them that once drinks himself UNDER the table? And that the next morning once has a hang OVER?
What about hanging out? What is one hanging?
Or KILLING TIME (is time alive?) while eating a HOT DOG (why not cat)?
Why is meat, great and threat spelled the same, pronounced differently, while rhyming w suite, straight and debt?
Or why do heard & word rhyme?
Dead is like bed (not bead).
Why don’t go and do rhyme?
Or blood and food?
Why not wart and cart?
Tomb, bomb, comb?
ffice:smarttags" />Korea, area, sea, idea?
Enough, though, through, plough and dough?
Why DO however busy and dizzy rhyme?
Verse, rhymes with worse?
Broad, reward?
Low, toe?
Why do you say KansaS but Arkansa(s)?
A dirty police has lice?
I live, therefore I am alive?
I see the beautiful sea.
Do you agree with me?
Have you ever tried to teach a Spanish person the word Sheet?
