Dear Suresh ~ I am not sure what Sanatana Dharma would have to say
about this, or if Swamiji or Maa have ever said anything about it, so
I will dig into my closet (and my past)...
ah, there they are :::grabbing all my Carlos Casteneda books::: Let's
see, Don Juan, who was a brujo (warrior/healer) in the tradition of
the Yakie Indians took on Carlos Castenda as a "student." Carlos was
an intrepid anthropologist who put himself in the scene and became
part of the process rather than merely an observer, and there is a
great deal of controversy about whether what he wrote really happened
or was all made up. I'm of the "it really happened" school.

One of the things Don Juan worked to teach Carlos was how to "take
control" (be aware) of his dreams. He taught that a person could
change the outcome of a dream within the dream itself. The specific
technique he taught for this was to, within the dreams, concentrate
on looking at your hands. This would add an objective element that
would bring your conscious control into the picture. I'm sorry I
don't remember more, and I don't remember which of the books it was
in. He also taught Carlos a technique called "Stopping the World." In
retrospect, as I think about it, I believe what he was trying to get
across to Carlos was the ability to stop the maya, step outside of
the illusion, and see what was "real," which would be that all things
are part and parcel of Divinity (though I'm pretty sure Don Juan would
use a different word).

Blessings ~ Linda
