Default Hanuman's mantra - 07-16-2005, 10:44 PM

Dear All,
Today , one of the mantras that we chanted at the fire was the Hanuman mantra.

It goes like this

"Om Ham Hanumate Rudraatmakaaya Hum Phat Svaahaa".

The meaning of the mantra is
"Om we bow to The Highest principle, to Hanumaan, the manifestation of the
Reliever of Sufferings (Rudra aka Shiva) , Cut the Ego ! Purify ! I am one with
God !"

Here is what Swamiji says in the introduction to the "Hanuman Puja" book
(available at http://www.shreemaa.org/bookstore.htm )
"Hanumaan means a monkey; not just any monkey, but the divine example of pure
devotion. Ha means Ishwara, Supreme Consciousness; nu means that which pervades,
maan means manifested: Hanumaan, the manifested existence of the Supreme
Consciousness which pervades all"

Swamiji further says that "whoever will worship Hanumaan according to this
system of worship will become filled with devotion and the joy of pure ,
unselfish service".

May we all remember him and be rewarded with devotion and the joy of pure ,
unselfish service.

Traditionally two days in the week - Tuesday and Saturday are auspicious days to
worship Hanumaan. Of course we can worship him everyday too.

Namaste,

We are very blessed here in New Mexico with a Hanuman Temple in Taos.
Our family goes there often.

With Love

This lover of love sings: "Mother! Mother! Mother! Who can fathom your
mystery, Your eternal play of love with love? You are divine madness, O
goddess,
Your love the brilliant crown of madness. Please make this poor poet
madly wealthy with the infinite treasure of your love." -Ramprasad. From
