Kali worship -
10-10-2006, 11:39 PM
Namaste
Parvati will be teaching the Kali puja on - line. What a perfect gift
to ready us for the Kali puja. Puja, the guided meditation into the
presence of Mother Kali. Read the inspired foreword to the Kali puja
by Swami and think and feel the divine blessings She brings.
As I think about Kali this evening, I remember the experience of the
Camunda homa that was performed during this recent Navaratri. Camunda
is that manifestation of Kali which destroyes anger and passion and
this homa is performed near the end of Navaratri. In the Chandi, it is
She who swallows all thoughts, attachements, and seeds of desire. She
swallows them all in order to free us. To remove the chains which
bind us to the ever changing relative existance, bound by space and
time. To bring us to meet and merge with Shiva, the Consciousness of
Infinite Goodness.
Worship of the Divine Mother to bring us to Father.
Imagine yourself with us at the sacred fire. Swami was leading the
homa, and Maa was at the fire too. The devottees all sat around the
fire chanting together and offering their anger and passion into the
fire.
In our hearts, and aloud, we prayed to Kali, Camunda, to remove anger
and passion. The chanting grew more spirited, and the waves of energy
around the sacred fire grew and grew. A whirlwind of energy, Kali's
blessing, swept thru us all.
Sudddenly in the midst of this tidal surge of energy, this writer only
experienced silence and deep quietness, then nothing. Nothing at all.
Kali removed all impulses. No action, no thought, no mantras, no
sound. Just beyond it all.
By Her grace, she removed all darkness and suffering, and attachment,
and left only pure awareness.
Was it for a second, or an etermity, who knows. who cares?
Then, coming back to awareness of the mantras, the crashing sound of
unified voices chanting together, asking, no begging, Camunda to
remove even the seed of desire. To root it out, and let us all unite
with Shiva, pure awareness. To come home to our true nature.
This is the blessing of worship of Mother Kali.
Whether we can perform the puja perfectly, or sing the mantras
accurately, it does not matter. Kali knows our hearts and is
committed to our liberation.
So, prepare to take up the Kali puja book with Parvati, and begin, or
renew and strengthen, your relationship with Maa.
Now we have the chance to dive into the mantras and the system of
worship, so we can develop a relationship with Her, and with Shiva.

Truly, there is nothing that can compare to being in the presence of
Maa and Swamiji and worshipping the divine.
Jai Maa!

Such a moving account. I wish I was there. i wish I could get all
the mundane stuff out of my mind and go to that place.
I am not clear when this class is going to take place. I have read
that the class will also teach the establishment of the pot. I am
very eager to join the class. Please let me know when the class
starts.
I wanted to share a dream I had last night. I vaguely remember that
Shree Maa was saying that she loved Kali and worshipped her and then
she realized that kali was EVERYTHING. My understanding is that she
meant the whole entire cosmos, our thoughts actions everything.
Amazing mother.
Thanks,
Ruchi

Dear brothers and sisters,
For a short time I had the amazing opportunity to live with Maa and Swami Ji. Now it is very hard to even go for a visit, due to physical distance and limitations of work and other various concerns, etc. etc.
Any of you who are lucky enough to be with Maa and Swami on a regular basis, all I can say is, keep that situation as long as you can. Keep it forever. You are sooooo blessed. I think of you all everyday, and wish I could be there.
Jai Maa
Jai Swami Ji
Love forever,
Nirmalananda
