I did not want to get into the discussion on SrI agnihotram svAmi, but
seeing some of the mail related to him, I feel it may be appropriate to
raise a couple of thoughts:

1) It seems there is dispute about the contents of the SrImukham provided by
him. One writer points out that SrI agnihotram should have refused to give
a SrImukham if he did not want to give what will be "acceptable" in the view
of the requester(s). Is it not fair to say that the persons(s) who
requested the SrImukham should have known that he has independent views, and
not approached him if they did not want to receive the views in the first
instance?

2) By the same token, those who invited him to uttamUr svAmi's centenary
celebration should have known about SrI agnihotram's views and style since
these are well-known. I do not believe SrI agnihotram svAmi insisted on
participating in any function uninvited. To go and invite someone of his
stature and then to advise him what he should speak does not seem like a
professional approach to me.
